A life-long dream realized

Davidwrightonfield

This is what it’s all about. Growing up a Mets fan and coming up through the Mets’ minor-league system, my dream was to experience postseason baseball in New York. Now that time has arrived.

The buzz in the city is electric. Walking around, everywhere I look people are wearing their hats and jerseys and shouting encouragment. The excitement is in the air and there’s nothing like it. It’s exhilarating to be part of this and makes you even hungrier to reach the World Series.

I grew up watching the playoff atmosphere in New York, especially the Subway Series in 2000. It seemed so surreal at the time, but now my teammates and I are living it. I feel very fortunate to experience something like at such a young age.

Davidwrightwillierandolph_1 We have a good makeup for the postseason on our club. Everyone is loose. It’s a close-knit team. We’re not about to change all of a sudden because it’s the playoffs. Whether it’s Game 20, 45 or the first game of the National League Division Series, we’re going to have fun. It’s the character of our clubhouse to enjoy ourselves.

But at the same time it’s going to be difficult to control our emotions, no question about it. I’m going to be excited and my instinct will be to play aggressive. But I’ll step back and take a deep breath. You can’t allow yourself to get caught up in the adrenaline rush. You want to make sure you see the whole picture and understand the situation rather than getting caught up in the moment.

We’re equipped to do that on this team, though. We have confidence in each other and know we can rely on one another no matter what the situation, so the pressure never falls on one guy. We’ve been through 162 games together already this season and we’ll go about these games the same way -- one game, one at-bat, one pitch at a time. We won’t look back and we won’t look ahead.

I’ve been in a few different clubhouses but this one is unique. I’ve spoken to the veteran players and they back me up on this, too. I feel like I have 24 brothers in the clubhouse with me and we’re all pulling in the same direction. We’ve faced adversity together, on and off the field, and we’ve grown even closer together because of it.

To a man we’ve got each others’ backs and we’re willing to fight for one another. As a young player it’s a comfort when you reach the playoffs to know you can lean on your teammates for support. I feel comfortable enough to go to anyone in our clubhouse with any issue that comes up. I know they’ll be the first ones to come put their arm around me when I struggle and I know they’ll be the first to come pat me on the back when I do well.

Unfortunately, my family won’t be in town for this series but I’ve been getting a lot of phone calls of support and encouragement. My brothers are in college, so it’s tough coming up here during the week and my parents are both working so they’ll be watching on television, too. But I’ll have some friends in the stands during the games here in New York this week. I know they’re all behind me whether they’re here physically or not.

Even though it looks like it will be more difficult for us to go forward in the playoffs because of the injuries, all your fans have every confidence in all you guys. You have been able to pick up the pace all season long, with or without some key players. Play for Maine like you did on Sept 23rd, we were at that game and you were electric!! Aim for the stars and we'll still be watching you in the World Series!! GO METS!!!!!!!

Hey d dub,
So, the other day i wore my brand new david wright shirt i got for my day to school..as ive stated many times i live in ohio...so this is kinda cool. I was walking down the hall, and some kid yelled GO METS! And i turned around and he was wearing amtes shirt to i was like heck yeah! It was pretty cool. I think we are the only two mets fans in northeast ohio.

My principal is mike vrabel from the new england patriots's dad. Thats cool too i guess.

good luck tomorrow!!

The Team. The Time. Wright Now! Keep it up :)

Hey David!

Excellent game tonight! I'm taking this game as a good omen for the rest of the postseason. I have nothing but high hopes for you and the other guys. If you keep this up, we'll be World Champions in no time.

The buzz you were talking about is contagious. At my high school, the playoffs are all anyone can talk about. It'll be good to go to school tomorrow and shove our win in the spoiled faces of the Yankee fans.

Shame, your family can't be in town, but I'm sure they're more than proud. Just know that you have a hundred more families cheering you on as well, epsecially mine. Me and my dad can talk of nothing else but your success, and me and my sister are finally getting along, a miracle onto itself.

Well, nothing more to say than good luck. You've played excellent all year long, and I know the best is yet to come.

LETS GO METS!!!!!

-Dan

P.s. my friend Jami told me to tell you she loves you. Surprise, Surprise

Hey david,
What an amazing game tonight. I've been anticipating this game for a long time. Great job today. The team the time the amazin's! I'm going to be 18 soon so I want the mets to make it to the WS before next year when I'm in college! If you guys don't, oh well. But do it BIG! What a season. Lets go for more. We've got the Wright Team for it so do it big! Good luck with the rest of the playoffs I'll be watching.

♥ Steph

Hey David!
Congratulations on your first playoff win! (: Nice doubles and RBI's! (: I'm sorry to hear that your family can't come. I'll try and come for you! I was listening to your interview after the game on SNY and I can totally understand the thing you said about getting butterflies and swinging at bad pitches. I still get nervous at my softball games. It's completely normal so don't worry about it. Well, good luck to you and the Mets tomorrow in Game 2! Keep up the awesome work D-Wright!

Love you!

<3, Katie

Grady's ghosts have returned to Shea... why bring in Penny?? He's been a stiff for the past 2 months.. I'm sure even Pedro was laughing at that move.. A couple post-game comments by Little here:

Nice Win DW.. go for the sweep!

Not only in NY but in FL as well. At least I did. I wore my Mets shirt to work today. HAHA even when people think I'm crazy, I beleive.

I enjoyed the win tonight and I hope you all keep the momentum going. Keep on being motivated and hang in there. Great things come to ... well to those who win :) but always stick together.

Great Game!!

David,

Great game today! Wow you guys really made that a very exciting game to watch! I can now fully enjoy wearing my Mets stuff around all of the Phillies fans that I live around tomorrow! That's what they get for saying that the Mets wouldn't make it! Anyways, amazing as always and nice skills with getting away from that broken bat! Good luck tomorrow and everything. Keep it up and GO METS!

I love you David!

~shea

Great game, David! I'm sure it's a huge relief to get the first game under your belts and to get those clutch hits and RBI's is even better. And that double play at the plate by Lo Duca was awesome!

Can't wait until tomorrow! Let's Go Met's!!

Thank You - as a Met fan I can safely say you guys have given us almost everything we could ask for - and most importantly you have done it with class. Thank you - teams like this one make all of the cold, lonely, dry years at the bottom of the league more than worth while. You guys make me proud to be a Met fan. Its time to Go Big or Go Home - the city is behind you.

Great game David! Sorry to hear about el Duque and Pedro but at least Maine got his shot to shine. I'll be rooting for you tomorrow. Have a great game.

David,
I know that you are in the most exciting experience of your live but when you step up to the plate the next time if you could take a moment to put one bit of extra effort in for my wife. She has been a huge Mets fan her whole life (and you are her favorite) and is going through a huge challenge in her life. We just lost our only child to Sudden Infant Death Syndrone at 3 1/2 months old. You being in the playoffs and winning is one thing that is helping keep her hed up. My side of the family grew up Braves fans but are quickly converting for my wifes sake. Good luck and win one for my wife and our daughter Mackensi Grace VanArsdale.

Good Luck!!!

great win today David. hope to see you guys get to the lefty tomorrow now that you've seen him a couple times. good luck!

Great game today. That play Lo Duca made at home was insane! I'm sorry to hear your family wasn't there today in person even though I'm sure they were all glued to a tv wherever they could find one. Good luck the rest of the postseason, David.

~Talk about My team! My time!~ Way to go and keep up the good work and faith in your abilities as a team...Outstanding job all season and so far, in the post!---Joy

David, Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I am down here in Va Beach, originally from NY and a die hard met fan! I can't tell you how psyched I am walking into some of the sports bars here seeing MET shirts on almost everyone!! It's about time they knew what they were missing :-) Tell Mr Wilpon I'll be there tomorrow night (Thursday)and I hope my car will be stolen again so he can fly me back home in his helicopter. I grew up his neighbor it wouldn't be the first time he got me home from Shea. haha

Hey David,
i was at game one!!! nice triple! =) i was screaming my head off for you =P, but what can i say? your just amazing! ♥ lol. ill be at the second game tomorrow so look, and do your best! ;) good luck♥ xoxo~Kristi

what's up David,
I nearly lost my voice cheering you guys on yesterday, what an amazing double play at the plate, i'm a die hard mets fans, i bleed blue and orange!!! i know u guys will fight through the adversity of losing pedro and el duque, u guys are truly a special team, congratulations on the new contract, i'm really looking forward to watching u for many years to come and i hope u stay a met 4 life, LET'S GO METS, all the way to the world series!!!

David,

We're all behind you in this series and every postseason obstacles you guys will have to face. Talk about a dramatic game one yesterday. LETS GO METS!

Jackie

Congrats on the win yesterday! Shame about your family - **laughs** PRIORITIES, people! I guess they want to save the vacation days and skipped classes for the World Series? ^_~

I'd be curious to know what it's like to have been the overwhelming favorite going into the postseason a month ago - only to take so many hits in the last few days. What keeps you guys up and focused? How does it impact the feeling in the clubhouse? (Speaking of, I'm pretty excited about the fact that Cliff's got a blog too, now. It'll be cool to get another perspective of things).

Good luck in Game 2, and in the rest of the series. A friend of mine has NLCS tickets if the Cards advance, and it would be pretty neat to see you guys there, despite what the talking heads are saying.

Way to go, David, on your first postseason win yesterday! I got home in time to see the top of the ninth and luckily you guys managed to close out the whole thing with a win. I was reading about Lo Duca's 2-for-1 play at the plate afterwards, and it just about gave me goosebumps. That must've really been such a sight to see! Congratulations (again and again, ha) on making the playoffs this season. I hope you enjoy it all and remember this experience for years to come.

The entire city of New York is behind you as well! Good luck and thanks for taking some time to share your postseason thoughts and feelings with us, we all know how busy you've gotta be at this time of year! (And, honestly, if you weren't going to update this blog sometime soon, I had been thinking of hopping over to Cliffy Floyd's blog to tell him to tell you that you need to update your blog. But I figured he wouldn't really have appreciated that. Also, congrats to Cliff on his home run!!!)

Good luck in Game 2!! And Game 3!

HEY DAVID!!!!!

I am so proud of you and the boys taking game one!!! I was the only chick in a Yankee bar with your jersey on this Wednesday, That's Love, LOL. Yelling at the top of my lungs!! I have played baseball all my life, and being the only girl on my little league team, I have loved this sport since I can remember. The Mets are such a wonderful club, I am so proud to be a fan. I take such pride when I put your jersey on and walk out of my house. And boy do I ever love the Yankee / Mets debates, LOL. I admire what you and the team have done this year. You as a player, besides being quite the catch, have devloped so much. Your desire to work hard ,keep your head in the game, and the drive to succeed are the same I had as a player. I had to work to be MVP of my old high school team. But nothing beats that feeling of accomplishment that only true ball players know. I am your biggest fan and I hope to shake your hand one day and say Thank you for being the player I admire most. Thanks again,

Christine

GREAT game, David! I'm sure you heard us fans giving you the love every second, and oh those RBI of yours ROCKED so hard core.

As the proprietress of the "David Wright Goatee Watch 2006," I've got to say you can't shave that baby clean. You've trimmed it, so that's okay, but it's got HITS in it!

Multiple kudos to you and my fave Cliff Floyd for being there to blog for the fans every step of the way.

It's amazing. It's just amazing!

http://www.pickmeup.mlblogs.com/

david,
all i can say is, you were born for this. great job last night! after that 2-rbi hit, seeing you pump your fist in excitement sent happiness chills down my spine. it's great to see a team that can have fun and battle through big games.

this team has a lot of talent, but, for me anyway, it is the character of this team that makes me want to cheer louder than ever. give willie a big pat on the back for all of us fans.

and keep up the good work!

Oh, AND--forgot to mention! You pay homage to the Beastie Boys with your at bat music, and I saw at a benefit concert last night that Ad Rock gives love right back at you by wearing a Mets cap! I posted a couple pics over at my place.
http://pickmeup.mlblogs.com/pick_me_up_some_mets/2006/10/one_of_the_best.html

Hey David!
I was at work last night so I couldn't watch the game, but I kept calling home to check the score and I was sporting my Mets shirt proudly. This is the most exciting postseason in a long time for me. Being 19, I wasn't even around for '86. But being a HUGE Met fan, of course I feel like I was around for it. Walking around at my college yesterday it seemed all I saw were Mets jerseys and shirts. And it made me so excited for you guys. You did great yesterday and I wish you the best of luck in the rest of the series. The buzz about this postseason is everywhere, you're right. Out here on Long Island, much like in the city, Mets fan are hyped. I love this feeling of excitement for the Mets. Good Luck!

LET'S GO METS!

<3 katie.

David,

Awesome game, David!
You drove in the game-winning run! It was such an exciting game. I hope we go a loooong way in the post-season. Good Luck! I'll be watching every inning I can! =)

-Alex

p.s.- please start catching with two hands!! it gets me nervous when players catch with only one hand lol

♥♥ you!

Hey David, I absolutely LOVE watching you play. I hope you continue to have great success in the years to come...by the way, I too am sporting a #5 mets shirt at work today.
GO METS!!!!!

Great game David! It's great to see the Mets back in the post season and even though there have been injuries, you all stick together and pick each other up.
David, I love that you and the rest of the team are just regular guys and know what team work is. Keep up the great good work and LETS GO METS!

This is why you guys are the team to beat: No whining, no obsessing about curses and bad luck - just put your heads down and get the job done.

"LET'S GO METS!"

Hi David, congratulations on making it so far to the playoffs and winning Game 1 of the series against the Dodgers. I also wanna say that you deserve to be here and I'm glad your enjoying yourself. I know we could go further and win the World Series. Even though there have been a lot of injuries, we always been able to pull together and still win ballgames. I think if we are able to do that, then we have a sure chance to win the World Series. Our team does have what it takes to win. Well I can't wait to see Game 2. I know it's going to be exciting because every game the Mets play is always exciting. Good Luck. I Love You. Let's Go Mets!!!!!

Hey David!

First off, I want to say how much I admire you and the entire Mets team. I love going to Shea and watching you all play together; your unity is evident in every game, every situation. You guys are exactly what a team should be!

Second, I'm from NJ, but I'm in Boston for college. I must say I miss the atmosphere of New York sports; I totally agree with you, there is nothing like it! I was exstatic when I opened up the newspaper today and LoDuca's double play was on the front page of the sports section in the Boston Globe! I wish you and the team the best of luck!I will be watching from my dorm rooting you guys on!

-Kristyn

heyy david!
u did AMAZING last night, i was cheering you on the entire time, and had no doubt in my mind that you would do so well, and win the game!

♥ steph <3

Great win tonight. Glavine pitched a gem. You know brother Cliff is updating his blog after every game...so how about getting on the keyboard and telling us your thoughts on the game.

David--
Don't you forget that you have an AMAZING amount of "Family" right here, all around Shea, via television, radio, and the internet. We will all be there to cheer you and the entire team on through victory!!! The entire team did so well last night, and please don't sweat the small stuff as it appeared when that grounder slipped into left field. Everyone else is there to back you up. Enjoy yourself, and the experience, and let's bring this back to New York really soon!!!

Two down, one to go. All of the pressure is on the Dodgers now so you can just have fun. I'm hoping that you wrap the series up on Saturday so that you can all relax until the NLCS starts next week.

You really are an amazing 3rd baseman, and a fierce competitor, we met fans are greatful you're on our side.

Keep up the good work.

David

Congrats! It's so exciting to watch you guys in the post season - there is so much energy and it seems like everyone is a little more playful, even on the field. Great catch last night! Everyone is rooting for a subway series...I cant wait for it to happen! And even though your family might not be able to be physically present, you have a stadium full of fans behind you all the way. Keep it up!

With love,

Ashley

Hey David,
Here comes a long distance congradulations all the way from Canada. I have followed the mets all season, I even had to order a special channel so I could get the Mets games, all we ever get up here is the blue jays. (who cares) I am a huge mets fan and a huge fan of you. You play the game in a very special way. You dont have dollar signs in your eyes you have passion. it's a beautiful game and you all play like you are having the time of your life. I hope you all are. I've watched a lot of baseball this year and you guys have something very unique about you, other than Reyes-lol. You can tell just from watching how close you guys are. Nobody else has that level of closeness, (brothers as you described it.) I can't wait for you to finish up the Dodgers, move onto the cardinals more than likely, cream them, and knock the yankees out in 3. You guys are the best team in the world and I can't wait for everyone to know it.

I am proud to be a mets fan.

Roberta

Hey David,
Just wanted to say Congrats!!! You guys are going ALL THE WAY!!!!! I read that you said that your family is not here for this series. I WILL be there for you and so will all your FANS!!!!

GOOD LUCK with the SWEEP!!!!!

LET'S GO METS!!!!!!!

Deana

Hey David,
Don't know if you'll read this, but congratulations so far on what you and the rest of the guys are doing. You're right that it's hard to keep your emotions at bay especially when October baseball for us fans doesn't come often, but when it does, it's incredibly special. But again, you guys are doing what you gotta do, and the results of that decision have been great. The team is definitely unique. Watching you guys all season certainly proves your point that this team is something special. Keep doing what you're all doing. You guys certainly are making us fans prouder each time. I was too young to remember in full detail the feeling of October '86, but I'm enjoying how I'm feeling this October! You're right, it is a little disappointing not to have family there to see it in person, but I'm sure you have their support and encouragement regardless. You've got them, you've got friends, and the fans pulling for you. Enjoy the ride! There's nothing like October baseball!

hi david! my name is peter,i want to congratulate u on ur win against the dodgers. ur an answer player! please send me an email at pete9428@yahoo.com, bye
THE METS ARE THE BEST!

David-
First and foremost, congratulations on all of your accomplishments this year and starting off well in the post-season play. I’m sure that your family is extremely proud of you and wishes more than anything to be there and cheer for you during your games. Although, you have given your team and your sport your very best: I think that your positive achievements off of the field should be recognized. When I first learned about who you were, you were on a magazine cover posed with children on a Children’s Baseball magazine; it was wonderfully refreshing see that. As I got to learn more about you and what your foundation stands for made me realize your care and compassion for others is how you’ve become well admired. I’ve got a lot of respect for someone in your line of work who gives so generously back to the community, like you, and helps to better so many lives in the process. In concluding, I hope that your heart will always be tender towards the less fortunate and the children. And to use the blessings that God has so graciously bestowed upon you. I would like to hear from you but also realize how many adoring fans you have to attend to first!

L.Johnson

2 DOWN, 1 TO GO!! obviously im hoping for a sweep, however, i would love to see you guys win it at shea -- especially since i have tickets to game 5 hehe! otherwise i guess ill just have to be there at the NLCS!! the rally was great - too bad you couldnt have been there. but congrats and best of luck to you and the rest of the mets!

I am SO excited to be a Mets fan this season. I celebrated my birthday at game one and my gifts were all things "Wright". You name it, I got it. Winning game 1 was the BEST birthday gift I could have gotten. It is such a joy to watch you play. You contribute in so many ways, from knocking one out to saving countless runs in the field. You are the consumate "New York Athlete". You handle yourself with such poise and class and you handle the New York Press like nobody I have ever seen. As far as your family not being able to be in New York is concerned, I am sure they are with you in spirit. Look at it this way though, the fans are your surrogate family and we are behind you all the way. Tell Reyes to CHILL OUT. lol....Sure, the game is a heck of a lot more interesting when he gets on base, but he seems so anxious and that could be what is preventing him from being as good as he can be at the plate. Although, I think it's cute to see all the younger players get all keyed up when they do well. You know, like the windmill fist pump:) A lot of people were worried about what would happen without Pedro and El Duque, but man did you guys shut them up. I truly believe there is nothing you guys can't do. I have a really good feeling about this team and you are well on your way:) Keep doing what you're doing and NOBODY CAN TOUCH YOU! THIS IS OUR YEAR! ALL THE WAY BABY!!!!!

Hey David. I was AT the October 4th Game... Game 1. What an amazing night. I had the dead last row in the upper level, and when I turned around to see NYC directly behind me, I was like "yah this is it!" I also had a perfect view of that insane car fire! DID YOU SEE IT?
Anyways, my family has tickets to game 5 and we have really good seats, but don't TRY any lose any games. But hey if you do have to go to Game 5- I'll be there up close and personal (compared to dead last row)

Catch ya later,

Lisa

Hi David, last's night game was good. Glavine pitch very well. 6 1/2 scoreless innings, we almost shutout the Dodgers. Even though we didn't because they got that one run in at the end, it doesn't matter. As long as we won the game. I think you and I agree that its more important to just win then to try to shutout the Dodgers.(But if we do that's good also.LOL) Game 1 was so exciting too. Espically when Lo Duca threw out both runners at home. Let me tell you that when he made that play, I was screaming at the top of my lungs. Anyway, I'm sad that there is no game tonight but I can't till tommorrow tonight's game. I'm loving it so far. Well see you later, hit one out the park for me and have fun. I love you so much. xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo
Let's Go Mets!!!!!

Amateurs. I have been a Mets fan since Opening Day of 1962 when the Mets were playing at the Polo Grounds. Anyway, I am a fan of yours and a team I love to watch as they change and grow and right now are probably the best they have been since 2000. Thanks for making a long-term committment to the franchise - that goes a long way with long-time fans like me. Good Luck and keep up the good work. You are the best of the best with the best yet to come for your career.

I wrote to Cliff but I think I should send congrats to you. Nice job! I told you that you guys would pull it off for us. Just one more win and you'll clinch for the Championship Series. Did I just say that??? Championship Series??? Win Saturday so you guys could have a rest and come back to play Pujols and go on to the World Series against the Tigers!...You swept the Cardinals at home last time didn't you? And the Mets have a better record than the Yanks...Either way, relax and do what comes naturally to you. You've done the obvious all year, why stop now? Sweep all the way if you can! 'Beltran bombs', Reyes' runs, all clutch hits, etc., I don't think there's an end to this star-studded team, Is there? Keep the faith!God Bless!-Joy

hey david,
i'm so proud of all you guys for getting this far. Good job so far taking the first two games of the NLDS, we're all pulling for you guys, we're always behind you. My grandpa just passed away this year, but he was a huge met fan and he knew that this team would get this far, and now it's coming true. This has been an incredible year, you guys really are the best. You have the best clubhouse in baseball i'm sure, you're like family and it's comforting to the fans to be able to have a close-knit team. Keep up the good work, good luck in game #3.

you're biggest fan=)

Amanda

All I can say is keep up the good work.Got kinda moody when El Duque got hurt but im feeling better about it now.You and the boys win 2night and the Yanks lose,im partying!!!!LETS GO METS!!!

David, Its been great watching you since you've started playing fulltime with the Mets.I admire your ability to focus and get the job done on the field and at the plate. You have become a major cog on this team very quickly and have proven yourself in the clutch. Keep it goin' and don't forget to keep having fun!

I know you have felt the pain of METS fans by growing up in the farm system. So I know you have a good idea how great this feels to be in this position. Your energy can be felt by the fans so keep it up. Thanks for securing our 3rd basemens spot for years to come. But most importantly thanks for being a braves killer and ending that riduculous streak of choking. Cant wait to see you guys in the WS!

It's been a great series, keep up the great work!!! I can't wait for another world series

The Mets have given me so much this season. I'm a sophomore in college and I write papers and study while I watch the game. I just need you guys to balence out my life. The best nights are with my boyfriend, watching the game with some pizza and beer. We are DIE HARD fans. I love you and I want nothing more than to see you guys happy! ...Looks like it won't be a subway seris this year. Yanks are down 0-7...game's not over yet though. KICK SOME *** TONIGHT! WOO!

- <3 Alyssa

Now Met fans can relax with Detroit beating the Yankees. Mets took back the city tonight! We Thank You with all of our hearts:)... You got this, D! Win tonight and win it all and make pussycats out of the Tigers. They took your idea and shared the champagne and moments with the fans, but if you play the Tigers be sure to win on home turf in Game 3 or 4 of World Series 06.I'll be there!..Lets go mets! xoxo Joy

Hey,
you guys have been doing great! Im watching the game right now! You guys are winning! I say your interview in People magazine! I thought it was pretty funny.when you said that the guys on the team make fun of you cuz you have like 10.11.12 years old girls like obsessing over you! Im sorrta obsessed with you but im not 10.11 or 12 years old im 14.so thats different i guess but not really you are still 10 years older than me..but oh well! I think you look really hot in that picture that is in the magazine!..oh no the dodgers just scored..:(..well do good tonight and win!!!!♥

David,
I love you and I'm nineteen, so don't worry your appeal is not limited to twelve year olds.

:-)

Mr. Wright - i'm a California resident but was born and raised in NY for 25 years (i'm only 27) and i'm watching the game right now, in LA with dodgers fans giving me grief all over. But i'm sporting your number and jersey proudly and i can't wait for you to win it all. its seriously the time for this team to recapture the excitment they gave me (and you) when we were growing up in the mid-80's. DO IT!

Nikkie

Patty ♥

CONGRATS!!!! NLCS HERE WE COME!!!! GREAT JOB!!!!
THIS IS THE YEAR!!!!

EMILY

David, Just a thought. Try not double pumping the ball into your glove on every play. It delays your throw by a few seconds and sometimes might make you rush the throw and make it go off-line such as what happened at game 3 against the Dodgers tonight. You hit great but tend to make errors when they shouldn't be!

Good luck with the NLCS and World Series when you guys get there!

Hey David!
Oh yeah- NLCS! Great job on getting this far! This is DEFINITELY THE YEAR! Well, enjoy your next three days off and good luck on Wednesday.

Love you lots!

Hi David, We are going to the NLCS. I'm so happy, I know this is our year and we going to go further on to winning the World Series. You guys played a great game last night. Espically when you tooked the lead 9-5. I saw when Floyd got hurt, is he going to be okay? I don't really want to lose him because we need him. I hope he gets better soon. Anyway you know everybody keeps wondering who we are going to play next. Wheather its the Padres or the Cardinals. I don't think it really matter though because I know we could beat either or. Oh my god, I'm so happy right now. Imagaine if I'm this happy, I know your going crazy. This is sooooo exicting. Thankyou for giving us Met fans something to go crazy about. We are really enjoying this. Well see you back at Shea. I know who ever we play we are going to win because you and the fans are electric and on fire. Love you so much and you know I'm the real futrue Mrs.Wright. LOL. Let's Go Mets!!!!!!!!!!!

One more thing. I heard about your interview in the magezine, when the guys was making fun of you because you had 10,11,12 girls obessing over you. I'm 15 though and I know your only 8 years older then me. I think I still have a chance though. What do you think? You never know. Bye baby. I love you forever.
-Veronica

hea David,

Congrats on sweeping the Dodgers and winning the NLDS! I knew you guys had that in the bag from the start. Enjoy your couple of days off, you guys really deserve it. Come out on Wedensday and get the first win against whoever you guys end up playing. Let them know we mean business. I was watching the game when they were talking about your interview in People magazine. I'm 16 and I know that we'll be together soon!! Love you always David.

LETS GOOOO METS!!!!

You guys gotta keep winning so that my teacher can't make fun of me when I wear my shirt to class if you win the World series! Great game and I'm glad Paul got to be a part of you beat the Dodgers. I know there was a tinge of it being personal for him.

Go Mets!

And tell Billy to shave. The fuzz doesn't work for him.

Way to beast it david!!
I hope one day you come to ohio like in the offseason and we can go to a cavs game and watch lebron beast it.

<3 Stef

David,
Great series against L.A. and nice to see it in form of a sweep. Congrats to you and the team! I'm here in S.D. by way of the Navy. So, if you guys face the Padres in the NLCS... I'm getting to a game one way, or the other and stir things up, especially at work... LOL! No matter what- The Team, The Time! LETS GO METS!

Hey David!
I noticed a lot of people are commenting you about the People Magazine interview. I bought it today and I think that it's so funny that the guys give you a hard time about 10, 11, and 12 year olds obsessing over you. I'm 17, only 6 years older than you, so that's not too bad.

Let's Go Mets!

Love you!

<3, Katie (Mrs. Wright) lol. (:
