A life-long dream realized

Davidwrightonfield

This is what it’s all about. Growing up a Mets fan and coming up through the Mets’ minor-league system, my dream was to experience postseason baseball in New York. Now that time has arrived.

The buzz in the city is electric. Walking around, everywhere I look people are wearing their hats and jerseys and shouting encouragment. The excitement is in the air and there’s nothing like it. It’s exhilarating to be part of this and makes you even hungrier to reach the World Series.

I grew up watching the playoff atmosphere in New York, especially the Subway Series in 2000. It seemed so surreal at the time, but now my teammates and I are living it. I feel very fortunate to experience something like at such a young age.

Davidwrightwillierandolph_1 We have a good makeup for the postseason on our club. Everyone is loose. It’s a close-knit team. We’re not about to change all of a sudden because it’s the playoffs. Whether it’s Game 20, 45 or the first game of the National League Division Series, we’re going to have fun. It’s the character of our clubhouse to enjoy ourselves.

But at the same time it’s going to be difficult to control our emotions, no question about it. I’m going to be excited and my instinct will be to play aggressive. But I’ll step back and take a deep breath. You can’t allow yourself to get caught up in the adrenaline rush. You want to make sure you see the whole picture and understand the situation rather than getting caught up in the moment.

We’re equipped to do that on this team, though. We have confidence in each other and know we can rely on one another no matter what the situation, so the pressure never falls on one guy. We’ve been through 162 games together already this season and we’ll go about these games the same way -- one game, one at-bat, one pitch at a time. We won’t look back and we won’t look ahead.

I’ve been in a few different clubhouses but this one is unique. I’ve spoken to the veteran players and they back me up on this, too. I feel like I have 24 brothers in the clubhouse with me and we’re all pulling in the same direction. We’ve faced adversity together, on and off the field, and we’ve grown even closer together because of it.

To a man we’ve got each others’ backs and we’re willing to fight for one another. As a young player it’s a comfort when you reach the playoffs to know you can lean on your teammates for support. I feel comfortable enough to go to anyone in our clubhouse with any issue that comes up. I know they’ll be the first ones to come put their arm around me when I struggle and I know they’ll be the first to come pat me on the back when I do well.

Unfortunately, my family won’t be in town for this series but I’ve been getting a lot of phone calls of support and encouragement. My brothers are in college, so it’s tough coming up here during the week and my parents are both working so they’ll be watching on television, too. But I’ll have some friends in the stands during the games here in New York this week. I know they’re all behind me whether they’re here physically or not.

hey david, kudos on being the classy guy and teammate that you are - it makes a huge impact on the game. *please* stay healthy and good luck in the playoffs. consider all of new york your family, and we'll be right there with you!

Even though it looks like it will be more difficult for us to go forward in the playoffs because of the injuries, all your fans have every confidence in all you guys. You have been able to pick up the pace all season long, with or without some key players. Play for Maine like you did on Sept 23rd, we were at that game and you were electric!! Aim for the stars and we'll still be watching you in the World Series!! GO METS!!!!!!!

Hey d dub,
So, the other day i wore my brand new david wright shirt i got for my day to school..as ive stated many times i live in ohio...so this is kinda cool. I was walking down the hall, and some kid yelled GO METS! And i turned around and he was wearing amtes shirt to i was like heck yeah! It was pretty cool. I think we are the only two mets fans in northeast ohio.

My principal is mike vrabel from the new england patriots's dad. Thats cool too i guess.

good luck tomorrow!!

The Team. The Time. Wright Now! Keep it up :)

Hey David!

Excellent game tonight! I'm taking this game as a good omen for the rest of the postseason. I have nothing but high hopes for you and the other guys. If you keep this up, we'll be World Champions in no time.

The buzz you were talking about is contagious. At my high school, the playoffs are all anyone can talk about. It'll be good to go to school tomorrow and shove our win in the spoiled faces of the Yankee fans.

Shame, your family can't be in town, but I'm sure they're more than proud. Just know that you have a hundred more families cheering you on as well, epsecially mine. Me and my dad can talk of nothing else but your success, and me and my sister are finally getting along, a miracle onto itself.

Well, nothing more to say than good luck. You've played excellent all year long, and I know the best is yet to come.

LETS GO METS!!!!!

-Dan

P.s. my friend Jami told me to tell you she loves you. Surprise, Surprise

Hey david,
What an amazing game tonight. I've been anticipating this game for a long time. Great job today. The team the time the amazin's! I'm going to be 18 soon so I want the mets to make it to the WS before next year when I'm in college! If you guys don't, oh well. But do it BIG! What a season. Lets go for more. We've got the Wright Team for it so do it big! Good luck with the rest of the playoffs I'll be watching.

♥ Steph

Hey David!
Congratulations on your first playoff win! (: Nice doubles and RBI's! (: I'm sorry to hear that your family can't come. I'll try and come for you! I was listening to your interview after the game on SNY and I can totally understand the thing you said about getting butterflies and swinging at bad pitches. I still get nervous at my softball games. It's completely normal so don't worry about it. Well, good luck to you and the Mets tomorrow in Game 2! Keep up the awesome work D-Wright!

Love you!

<3, Katie

Grady's ghosts have returned to Shea... why bring in Penny?? He's been a stiff for the past 2 months.. I'm sure even Pedro was laughing at that move.. A couple post-game comments by Little here:

Nice Win DW.. go for the sweep!

Not only in NY but in FL as well. At least I did. I wore my Mets shirt to work today. HAHA even when people think I'm crazy, I beleive.

I enjoyed the win tonight and I hope you all keep the momentum going. Keep on being motivated and hang in there. Great things come to ... well to those who win :) but always stick together.

Great Game!!

David,

Great game today! Wow you guys really made that a very exciting game to watch! I can now fully enjoy wearing my Mets stuff around all of the Phillies fans that I live around tomorrow! That's what they get for saying that the Mets wouldn't make it! Anyways, amazing as always and nice skills with getting away from that broken bat! Good luck tomorrow and everything. Keep it up and GO METS!

I love you David!

~shea

Great game, David! I'm sure it's a huge relief to get the first game under your belts and to get those clutch hits and RBI's is even better. And that double play at the plate by Lo Duca was awesome!

Can't wait until tomorrow! Let's Go Met's!!

Thank You - as a Met fan I can safely say you guys have given us almost everything we could ask for - and most importantly you have done it with class. Thank you - teams like this one make all of the cold, lonely, dry years at the bottom of the league more than worth while. You guys make me proud to be a Met fan. Its time to Go Big or Go Home - the city is behind you.

Great game David! Sorry to hear about el Duque and Pedro but at least Maine got his shot to shine. I'll be rooting for you tomorrow. Have a great game.

David,
I know that you are in the most exciting experience of your live but when you step up to the plate the next time if you could take a moment to put one bit of extra effort in for my wife. She has been a huge Mets fan her whole life (and you are her favorite) and is going through a huge challenge in her life. We just lost our only child to Sudden Infant Death Syndrone at 3 1/2 months old. You being in the playoffs and winning is one thing that is helping keep her hed up. My side of the family grew up Braves fans but are quickly converting for my wifes sake. Good luck and win one for my wife and our daughter Mackensi Grace VanArsdale.

Good Luck!!!

great win today David. hope to see you guys get to the lefty tomorrow now that you've seen him a couple times. good luck!

Great game today. That play Lo Duca made at home was insane! I'm sorry to hear your family wasn't there today in person even though I'm sure they were all glued to a tv wherever they could find one. Good luck the rest of the postseason, David.

~Talk about My team! My time!~ Way to go and keep up the good work and faith in your abilities as a team...Outstanding job all season and so far, in the post!---Joy

David, Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I am down here in Va Beach, originally from NY and a die hard met fan! I can't tell you how psyched I am walking into some of the sports bars here seeing MET shirts on almost everyone!! It's about time they knew what they were missing :-) Tell Mr Wilpon I'll be there tomorrow night (Thursday)and I hope my car will be stolen again so he can fly me back home in his helicopter. I grew up his neighbor it wouldn't be the first time he got me home from Shea. haha

Hey David,
i was at game one!!! nice triple! =) i was screaming my head off for you =P, but what can i say? your just amazing! ♥ lol. ill be at the second game tomorrow so look, and do your best! ;) good luck♥ xoxo~Kristi

DAVID YOUR AMAZING , EVERYTHING YOUVE DONE , THE WAY YOU CARRIED YOURSELF , AND THE METS ,YOUR SUBSTANCE OVER STYLE , EVEN THOUGH YOU GOT ONE , AFTER A LONG SEASON I STIIL REFLECT ON A BITE I CAUGHT OF U DELGADO , AND OTHERS TAKING PITCH COUNTS AT 100 AM AFTER BEERS , CARLOS D, COMMENTTED THAT THIS KID IS GONNA BE SOMETHING , IM SO HAPPY RIGHT NOW FOR YOU THE BALLCLUB AND ME , WHILE IM IN MINNESOTA NOW , I LOVE MY NY METS , WHAT A GAME IM SPEECHLESS , GOOD JOB YOU ARE SO IMPORTANT TO IT ALL I LOVE YOU MAN , GOOD LUCK

what's up David,
I nearly lost my voice cheering you guys on yesterday, what an amazing double play at the plate, i'm a die hard mets fans, i bleed blue and orange!!! i know u guys will fight through the adversity of losing pedro and el duque, u guys are truly a special team, congratulations on the new contract, i'm really looking forward to watching u for many years to come and i hope u stay a met 4 life, LET'S GO METS, all the way to the world series!!!

David,

We're all behind you in this series and every postseason obstacles you guys will have to face. Talk about a dramatic game one yesterday. LETS GO METS!

Jackie

Congrats on the win yesterday! Shame about your family - **laughs** PRIORITIES, people! I guess they want to save the vacation days and skipped classes for the World Series? ^_~

I'd be curious to know what it's like to have been the overwhelming favorite going into the postseason a month ago - only to take so many hits in the last few days. What keeps you guys up and focused? How does it impact the feeling in the clubhouse? (Speaking of, I'm pretty excited about the fact that Cliff's got a blog too, now. It'll be cool to get another perspective of things).

Good luck in Game 2, and in the rest of the series. A friend of mine has NLCS tickets if the Cards advance, and it would be pretty neat to see you guys there, despite what the talking heads are saying.

Way to go, David, on your first postseason win yesterday! I got home in time to see the top of the ninth and luckily you guys managed to close out the whole thing with a win. I was reading about Lo Duca's 2-for-1 play at the plate afterwards, and it just about gave me goosebumps. That must've really been such a sight to see! Congratulations (again and again, ha) on making the playoffs this season. I hope you enjoy it all and remember this experience for years to come.

The entire city of New York is behind you as well! Good luck and thanks for taking some time to share your postseason thoughts and feelings with us, we all know how busy you've gotta be at this time of year! (And, honestly, if you weren't going to update this blog sometime soon, I had been thinking of hopping over to Cliffy Floyd's blog to tell him to tell you that you need to update your blog. But I figured he wouldn't really have appreciated that. Also, congrats to Cliff on his home run!!!)

Good luck in Game 2!! And Game 3!

How cool were those 2 outs by Duca!!! That was a first for me in my lifetime.

I just want to say that i think it is so cool how this team as managed to pull each other together and come out with such great and wonderful results, I as a fan are soooo proud of you and the team and especially to Willie for being the great manager he is.

I know for sure that we are going all the way but i will try to keep my cool and take a step back like the rest of the team. I just want to wish you and the team lots of luck, i'll be watching!!! LET'S GO METS!!!

HEY DAVID!!!!!

I am so proud of you and the boys taking game one!!! I was the only chick in a Yankee bar with your jersey on this Wednesday, That's Love, LOL. Yelling at the top of my lungs!! I have played baseball all my life, and being the only girl on my little league team, I have loved this sport since I can remember. The Mets are such a wonderful club, I am so proud to be a fan. I take such pride when I put your jersey on and walk out of my house. And boy do I ever love the Yankee / Mets debates, LOL. I admire what you and the team have done this year. You as a player, besides being quite the catch, have devloped so much. Your desire to work hard ,keep your head in the game, and the drive to succeed are the same I had as a player. I had to work to be MVP of my old high school team. But nothing beats that feeling of accomplishment that only true ball players know. I am your biggest fan and I hope to shake your hand one day and say Thank you for being the player I admire most. Thanks again,

Christine

GREAT game, David! I'm sure you heard us fans giving you the love every second, and oh those RBI of yours ROCKED so hard core.

As the proprietress of the "David Wright Goatee Watch 2006," I've got to say you can't shave that baby clean. You've trimmed it, so that's okay, but it's got HITS in it!

Multiple kudos to you and my fave Cliff Floyd for being there to blog for the fans every step of the way.

It's amazing. It's just amazing!

http://www.pickmeup.mlblogs.com/

david,
all i can say is, you were born for this. great job last night! after that 2-rbi hit, seeing you pump your fist in excitement sent happiness chills down my spine. it's great to see a team that can have fun and battle through big games.

this team has a lot of talent, but, for me anyway, it is the character of this team that makes me want to cheer louder than ever. give willie a big pat on the back for all of us fans.

and keep up the good work!

Oh, AND--forgot to mention! You pay homage to the Beastie Boys with your at bat music, and I saw at a benefit concert last night that Ad Rock gives love right back at you by wearing a Mets cap! I posted a couple pics over at my place.
http://pickmeup.mlblogs.com/pick_me_up_some_mets/2006/10/one_of_the_best.html

Hey David!
I was at work last night so I couldn't watch the game, but I kept calling home to check the score and I was sporting my Mets shirt proudly. This is the most exciting postseason in a long time for me. Being 19, I wasn't even around for '86. But being a HUGE Met fan, of course I feel like I was around for it. Walking around at my college yesterday it seemed all I saw were Mets jerseys and shirts. And it made me so excited for you guys. You did great yesterday and I wish you the best of luck in the rest of the series. The buzz about this postseason is everywhere, you're right. Out here on Long Island, much like in the city, Mets fan are hyped. I love this feeling of excitement for the Mets. Good Luck!

LET'S GO METS!

<3 katie.

David,

Awesome game, David!
You drove in the game-winning run! It was such an exciting game. I hope we go a loooong way in the post-season. Good Luck! I'll be watching every inning I can! =)

-Alex

p.s.- please start catching with two hands!! it gets me nervous when players catch with only one hand lol

♥♥ you!

Hey David, I absolutely LOVE watching you play. I hope you continue to have great success in the years to come...by the way, I too am sporting a #5 mets shirt at work today.
GO METS!!!!!

Great game David! It's great to see the Mets back in the post season and even though there have been injuries, you all stick together and pick each other up.
David, I love that you and the rest of the team are just regular guys and know what team work is. Keep up the great good work and LETS GO METS!

This is why you guys are the team to beat: No whining, no obsessing about curses and bad luck - just put your heads down and get the job done.

"LET'S GO METS!"

Hi David, congratulations on making it so far to the playoffs and winning Game 1 of the series against the Dodgers. I also wanna say that you deserve to be here and I'm glad your enjoying yourself. I know we could go further and win the World Series. Even though there have been a lot of injuries, we always been able to pull together and still win ballgames. I think if we are able to do that, then we have a sure chance to win the World Series. Our team does have what it takes to win. Well I can't wait to see Game 2. I know it's going to be exciting because every game the Mets play is always exciting. Good Luck. I Love You. Let's Go Mets!!!!!

Hey David!

First off, I want to say how much I admire you and the entire Mets team. I love going to Shea and watching you all play together; your unity is evident in every game, every situation. You guys are exactly what a team should be!

Second, I'm from NJ, but I'm in Boston for college. I must say I miss the atmosphere of New York sports; I totally agree with you, there is nothing like it! I was exstatic when I opened up the newspaper today and LoDuca's double play was on the front page of the sports section in the Boston Globe! I wish you and the team the best of luck!I will be watching from my dorm rooting you guys on!

-Kristyn

heyy david!
u did AMAZING last night, i was cheering you on the entire time, and had no doubt in my mind that you would do so well, and win the game!

♥ steph <3

Great win tonight. Glavine pitched a gem. You know brother Cliff is updating his blog after every game...so how about getting on the keyboard and telling us your thoughts on the game.

David--
Don't you forget that you have an AMAZING amount of "Family" right here, all around Shea, via television, radio, and the internet. We will all be there to cheer you and the entire team on through victory!!! The entire team did so well last night, and please don't sweat the small stuff as it appeared when that grounder slipped into left field. Everyone else is there to back you up. Enjoy yourself, and the experience, and let's bring this back to New York really soon!!!

Two down, one to go. All of the pressure is on the Dodgers now so you can just have fun. I'm hoping that you wrap the series up on Saturday so that you can all relax until the NLCS starts next week.

You really are an amazing 3rd baseman, and a fierce competitor, we met fans are greatful you're on our side.

Keep up the good work.

David

Congrats! It's so exciting to watch you guys in the post season - there is so much energy and it seems like everyone is a little more playful, even on the field. Great catch last night! Everyone is rooting for a subway series...I cant wait for it to happen! And even though your family might not be able to be physically present, you have a stadium full of fans behind you all the way. Keep it up!

With love,

Ashley

Hey David,
Here comes a long distance congradulations all the way from Canada. I have followed the mets all season, I even had to order a special channel so I could get the Mets games, all we ever get up here is the blue jays. (who cares) I am a huge mets fan and a huge fan of you. You play the game in a very special way. You dont have dollar signs in your eyes you have passion. it's a beautiful game and you all play like you are having the time of your life. I hope you all are. I've watched a lot of baseball this year and you guys have something very unique about you, other than Reyes-lol. You can tell just from watching how close you guys are. Nobody else has that level of closeness, (brothers as you described it.) I can't wait for you to finish up the Dodgers, move onto the cardinals more than likely, cream them, and knock the yankees out in 3. You guys are the best team in the world and I can't wait for everyone to know it.

I am proud to be a mets fan.

Roberta

Hey David,
Just wanted to say Congrats!!! You guys are going ALL THE WAY!!!!! I read that you said that your family is not here for this series. I WILL be there for you and so will all your FANS!!!!

GOOD LUCK with the SWEEP!!!!!

LET'S GO METS!!!!!!!

Deana

Hey David,
Don't know if you'll read this, but congratulations so far on what you and the rest of the guys are doing. You're right that it's hard to keep your emotions at bay especially when October baseball for us fans doesn't come often, but when it does, it's incredibly special. But again, you guys are doing what you gotta do, and the results of that decision have been great. The team is definitely unique. Watching you guys all season certainly proves your point that this team is something special. Keep doing what you're all doing. You guys certainly are making us fans prouder each time. I was too young to remember in full detail the feeling of October '86, but I'm enjoying how I'm feeling this October! You're right, it is a little disappointing not to have family there to see it in person, but I'm sure you have their support and encouragement regardless. You've got them, you've got friends, and the fans pulling for you. Enjoy the ride! There's nothing like October baseball!

hi david! my name is peter,i want to congratulate u on ur win against the dodgers. ur an answer player! please send me an email at pete9428@yahoo.com, bye
THE METS ARE THE BEST!

David-
First and foremost, congratulations on all of your accomplishments this year and starting off well in the post-season play. I’m sure that your family is extremely proud of you and wishes more than anything to be there and cheer for you during your games. Although, you have given your team and your sport your very best: I think that your positive achievements off of the field should be recognized. When I first learned about who you were, you were on a magazine cover posed with children on a Children’s Baseball magazine; it was wonderfully refreshing see that. As I got to learn more about you and what your foundation stands for made me realize your care and compassion for others is how you’ve become well admired. I’ve got a lot of respect for someone in your line of work who gives so generously back to the community, like you, and helps to better so many lives in the process. In concluding, I hope that your heart will always be tender towards the less fortunate and the children. And to use the blessings that God has so graciously bestowed upon you. I would like to hear from you but also realize how many adoring fans you have to attend to first!

L.Johnson

2 DOWN, 1 TO GO!! obviously im hoping for a sweep, however, i would love to see you guys win it at shea -- especially since i have tickets to game 5 hehe! otherwise i guess ill just have to be there at the NLCS!! the rally was great - too bad you couldnt have been there. but congrats and best of luck to you and the rest of the mets!

I am SO excited to be a Mets fan this season. I celebrated my birthday at game one and my gifts were all things "Wright". You name it, I got it. Winning game 1 was the BEST birthday gift I could have gotten. It is such a joy to watch you play. You contribute in so many ways, from knocking one out to saving countless runs in the field. You are the consumate "New York Athlete". You handle yourself with such poise and class and you handle the New York Press like nobody I have ever seen. As far as your family not being able to be in New York is concerned, I am sure they are with you in spirit. Look at it this way though, the fans are your surrogate family and we are behind you all the way. Tell Reyes to CHILL OUT. lol....Sure, the game is a heck of a lot more interesting when he gets on base, but he seems so anxious and that could be what is preventing him from being as good as he can be at the plate. Although, I think it's cute to see all the younger players get all keyed up when they do well. You know, like the windmill fist pump:) A lot of people were worried about what would happen without Pedro and El Duque, but man did you guys shut them up. I truly believe there is nothing you guys can't do. I have a really good feeling about this team and you are well on your way:) Keep doing what you're doing and NOBODY CAN TOUCH YOU! THIS IS OUR YEAR! ALL THE WAY BABY!!!!!

Hey David. I was AT the October 4th Game... Game 1. What an amazing night. I had the dead last row in the upper level, and when I turned around to see NYC directly behind me, I was like "yah this is it!" I also had a perfect view of that insane car fire! DID YOU SEE IT?
Anyways, my family has tickets to game 5 and we have really good seats, but don't TRY any lose any games. But hey if you do have to go to Game 5- I'll be there up close and personal (compared to dead last row)

Catch ya later,

Lisa

Hi David, last's night game was good. Glavine pitch very well. 6 1/2 scoreless innings, we almost shutout the Dodgers. Even though we didn't because they got that one run in at the end, it doesn't matter. As long as we won the game. I think you and I agree that its more important to just win then to try to shutout the Dodgers.(But if we do that's good also.LOL) Game 1 was so exciting too. Espically when Lo Duca threw out both runners at home. Let me tell you that when he made that play, I was screaming at the top of my lungs. Anyway, I'm sad that there is no game tonight but I can't till tommorrow tonight's game. I'm loving it so far. Well see you later, hit one out the park for me and have fun. I love you so much. xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo
Let's Go Mets!!!!!

Amateurs. I have been a Mets fan since Opening Day of 1962 when the Mets were playing at the Polo Grounds. Anyway, I am a fan of yours and a team I love to watch as they change and grow and right now are probably the best they have been since 2000. Thanks for making a long-term committment to the franchise - that goes a long way with long-time fans like me. Good Luck and keep up the good work. You are the best of the best with the best yet to come for your career.

I wrote to Cliff but I think I should send congrats to you. Nice job! I told you that you guys would pull it off for us. Just one more win and you'll clinch for the Championship Series. Did I just say that??? Championship Series??? Win Saturday so you guys could have a rest and come back to play Pujols and go on to the World Series against the Tigers!...You swept the Cardinals at home last time didn't you? And the Mets have a better record than the Yanks...Either way, relax and do what comes naturally to you. You've done the obvious all year, why stop now? Sweep all the way if you can! 'Beltran bombs', Reyes' runs, all clutch hits, etc., I don't think there's an end to this star-studded team, Is there? Keep the faith!God Bless!-Joy

hey david,
i'm so proud of all you guys for getting this far. Good job so far taking the first two games of the NLDS, we're all pulling for you guys, we're always behind you. My grandpa just passed away this year, but he was a huge met fan and he knew that this team would get this far, and now it's coming true. This has been an incredible year, you guys really are the best. You have the best clubhouse in baseball i'm sure, you're like family and it's comforting to the fans to be able to have a close-knit team. Keep up the good work, good luck in game #3.

you're biggest fan=)

Amanda

All I can say is keep up the good work.Got kinda moody when El Duque got hurt but im feeling better about it now.You and the boys win 2night and the Yanks lose,im partying!!!!LETS GO METS!!!

David, Its been great watching you since you've started playing fulltime with the Mets.I admire your ability to focus and get the job done on the field and at the plate. You have become a major cog on this team very quickly and have proven yourself in the clutch. Keep it goin' and don't forget to keep having fun!

I know you have felt the pain of METS fans by growing up in the farm system. So I know you have a good idea how great this feels to be in this position. Your energy can be felt by the fans so keep it up. Thanks for securing our 3rd basemens spot for years to come. But most importantly thanks for being a braves killer and ending that riduculous streak of choking. Cant wait to see you guys in the WS!

It's been a great series, keep up the great work!!! I can't wait for another world series

The Mets have given me so much this season. I'm a sophomore in college and I write papers and study while I watch the game. I just need you guys to balence out my life. The best nights are with my boyfriend, watching the game with some pizza and beer. We are DIE HARD fans. I love you and I want nothing more than to see you guys happy! ...Looks like it won't be a subway seris this year. Yanks are down 0-7...game's not over yet though. KICK SOME *** TONIGHT! WOO!

- <3 Alyssa

Now Met fans can relax with Detroit beating the Yankees. Mets took back the city tonight! We Thank You with all of our hearts:)... You got this, D! Win tonight and win it all and make pussycats out of the Tigers. They took your idea and shared the champagne and moments with the fans, but if you play the Tigers be sure to win on home turf in Game 3 or 4 of World Series 06.I'll be there!..Lets go mets! xoxo Joy

Hey,
you guys have been doing great! Im watching the game right now! You guys are winning! I say your interview in People magazine! I thought it was pretty funny.when you said that the guys on the team make fun of you cuz you have like 10.11.12 years old girls like obsessing over you! Im sorrta obsessed with you but im not 10.11 or 12 years old im 14.so thats different i guess but not really you are still 10 years older than me..but oh well! I think you look really hot in that picture that is in the magazine!..oh no the dodgers just scored..:(..well do good tonight and win!!!!♥

♥♥

Marissa

David,
I love you and I'm nineteen, so don't worry your appeal is not limited to twelve year olds.

:-)

Mr. Wright - i'm a California resident but was born and raised in NY for 25 years (i'm only 27) and i'm watching the game right now, in LA with dodgers fans giving me grief all over. But i'm sporting your number and jersey proudly and i can't wait for you to win it all. its seriously the time for this team to recapture the excitment they gave me (and you) when we were growing up in the mid-80's. DO IT!

Nikkie

hey omg David congrats on the postseason. its been goin great! I am so0o proud of you and Im so0o happy that you had your dream come true well hopefully we'll win the series! I know that we can do it with such great players (definitely incuding you). aww mann you are my favorite player evr. I am extremely happy tht you are a Met nd tht you have been so successful in this game.
luv you forever!

Patty ♥

CONGRATS!!!! NLCS HERE WE COME!!!! GREAT JOB!!!!
THIS IS THE YEAR!!!!

EMILY

David, Just a thought. Try not double pumping the ball into your glove on every play. It delays your throw by a few seconds and sometimes might make you rush the throw and make it go off-line such as what happened at game 3 against the Dodgers tonight. You hit great but tend to make errors when they shouldn't be!

Good luck with the NLCS and World Series when you guys get there!

Hey David!
Oh yeah- NLCS! Great job on getting this far! This is DEFINITELY THE YEAR! Well, enjoy your next three days off and good luck on Wednesday.

Love you lots!

xoxoxoxo, Katie

Hi David, We are going to the NLCS. I'm so happy, I know this is our year and we going to go further on to winning the World Series. You guys played a great game last night. Espically when you tooked the lead 9-5. I saw when Floyd got hurt, is he going to be okay? I don't really want to lose him because we need him. I hope he gets better soon. Anyway you know everybody keeps wondering who we are going to play next. Wheather its the Padres or the Cardinals. I don't think it really matter though because I know we could beat either or. Oh my god, I'm so happy right now. Imagaine if I'm this happy, I know your going crazy. This is sooooo exicting. Thankyou for giving us Met fans something to go crazy about. We are really enjoying this. Well see you back at Shea. I know who ever we play we are going to win because you and the fans are electric and on fire. Love you so much and you know I'm the real futrue Mrs.Wright. LOL. Let's Go Mets!!!!!!!!!!!

One more thing. I heard about your interview in the magezine, when the guys was making fun of you because you had 10,11,12 girls obessing over you. I'm 15 though and I know your only 8 years older then me. I think I still have a chance though. What do you think? You never know. Bye baby. I love you forever.
-Veronica

hea David,

Congrats on sweeping the Dodgers and winning the NLDS! I knew you guys had that in the bag from the start. Enjoy your couple of days off, you guys really deserve it. Come out on Wedensday and get the first win against whoever you guys end up playing. Let them know we mean business. I was watching the game when they were talking about your interview in People magazine. I'm 16 and I know that we'll be together soon!! Love you always David.

David,
Great series against L.A. and nice to see it in form of a sweep. Congrats to you and the team! I'm here in S.D. by way of the Navy. So, if you guys face the Padres in the NLCS... I'm getting to a game one way, or the other and stir things up, especially at work... LOL! No matter what- The Team, The Time! LETS GO METS!

Hey David!
I noticed a lot of people are commenting you about the People Magazine interview. I bought it today and I think that it's so funny that the guys give you a hard time about 10, 11, and 12 year olds obsessing over you. I'm 17, only 6 years older than you, so that's not too bad.

Let's Go Mets!

Love you!

<3, Katie (Mrs. Wright) lol. (:

YAY!!!!!!! Congrats, David, and to the entire team!!!! this is unbelievable; I am so excited! :) Hey you're a real celebrity if you have females of all ages obsessed with you, rt? :) (i remember being like that also not 2 long ago :-D ) Im sure you arent complaining ;) Anyways, good luck against whoever u play next!!!!!! Youv got 56,000 friends in the crowd for you bro. I know it would be better to have your familly there but thats not to bad either lol. I will be there if it goes to game 7 of the nlcs as those are the only tixx i got. I will be wearing your jersey and holding my d wright sign up. I got on tv twice with signs for you one on sny with a word for each letter of your name against the reds. The other on ESPN against the phillies with my "wright man wright spot" sing.
Anyway youv got everyone pulling for you.

Im so happy the mets were fortunate enough to get both you and jose. You guys both rock. go show the Cards and the AL champs how the mets roll. Later brotha.

LET'S GO METS!!! You guys are awesome! Way to SWEEP! I'm so happy for you guys. You deserve it ALL! The chemistry on this team between all of you is incredible. That is what makes you guys THE BEST!!!! Good luck to all of you and let's kick some Cardinal butt!! LOVE YOU GUYS!!!

this has nothing to do with any of this but my sister is best friends with your best freinds girlfriend. i think that is pretty crazy. she met you once 2. wooow. talk about 6 degrees

Hey David, just wanted to wish you luck. Let's try to sweep the Cards. After your sweep in L.A. I had to text all my Yankee friends "let's go mets" to rub it in there faces. I'm hoping to go to Thursday's game just to see you. Just to let you know I'm legal and in your age bracket. Good Luck Sweetie.........
P.S. I also played softball in H.S. and college, so I love the game.

ROCK ON David! Your fans in Washington, DC are CRAZY about this upcoming week of play....and WE WILL BE YELLING FOR THE ENTIRE TEAM ON THURSDAY!!!!! GO METS!!
~Staci

GOOD LUCK!!!

I hope you guys are ready to play the Cards! I wish i could go to one of the playoff games but my father claims he can;t afford it for everyone in my house which *** but whatever. That's what happens when you have a big family.

Even though I won't be at the games i will be at the games (while watching T.V) and I will be cheering you guys on and it will annoy my sibs! YAY! GOOD LUCK!

And that **** thing wasn't a curse word or anything...I dunno why that happened...

Track: Legacy

I don't mind if you've got something nice to say about me

And I enjoy an accolade like the rest

You could take my picture and hang it in a gallery

Of all who's who and so-n-so's that used to be the best

At such'n'such ... it wouldn't matter much

I won't lie, it feels alright to see your name in lights

We all need an 'Atta boy' or 'Atta girl'

But in the end I'd like to hang my hat on more besides

The temporary trappings of this world

I want to leave a legacy

How will they remember me?

Did I choose to love? Did I point to You enough

To make a mark on things?

I want to leave an offering

A child of mercy and grace who

Blessed your name unapologetically

And leave that kind of legacy

I don't have to look too far or too long awhile

To make a lengthy list of all that I enjoy

It's an accumulating trinket and a treasure pile

Where moth and rust, thieves and such will soon enough destroy

Not well traveled, not well read, not well-to-do or well bred

Just want to hear instead, "Well Done" good and faithful one...

Hey David, I just want to tell you how proud I am of you. I cheer for you not only because I am a fellow Hickory alum, but because I believe in what you can and have done for the Mets. You have made Chesapeake proud, the postseason is for your own personal enjoyment. I am behind you the whole way, as is everyone else. Have fun, because that's what makes it worthwhile. You'll do great!

Ashley

Hi David,

Congrats on sweeping the Dodgers!! Woo-hoo! I was over the moon on Sat. night, as were all of you. I am so excited that the Mets are going to the Championship Series!! It is a dream come true for me, so I can't even imagine what it's like to be a part of it!! Good luck against the Cardinals! You can do it. Sorry your family couldn't come to the games. I hope they can come to this series.

What makes all of this even better for me is that a lot of my friends are Yankee fans and well, we all know what happened there. I'm tired of all of their taunting. Now, finally, the Mets have the spotlight on THEM, and only THEM for once!! And I am so happy about that! We're going all the way...I feel it. We will get all of the press coverage for once. We will get top billing! I can't wait until we finally get our own ticker tape parade at the end of the month! I know you don't like to look ahead and I agree, but I feel it now and I'm finally looking ahead! Good luck tomorrow night...I'll be wearing your shirt with pride! Love, Kathleen

Hey David! I am a DIE HARD Mets fan who just happens to have been born and raised in St. Louis. I would love NOTHING more than for my team to knock the Cards around and advance to the World Series! My daughter, Shea (yes after the stadium) and I will be watching every game! GOOD LUCK, GOD BLESS AND LET'S BRING THE CHAMPIONSHIP BACK TO NEW YORK! The city, the fans and the players all deserve it! LET'S GO METS!!!!!!!!! tammy_holt@fan.mets.com

Hey david you have been doing great for this team so far and u are my hero so help bring a championship back to new york GO METS!!!!!!!!!

Hey David,
Or should I say Mr. Hollywood?

I knew from the first day they brought you up from AAA you were "the player". I also knew that they should never trade you. I was right and then you signed a contract. Don't get greedy like your cross-town rival. Enjoy the time. I wish I could have gotten tickets to any of the games. My husband wasn't happy that we swept the Dodgers. Don't ever let the press get to you whether it's positive or negative. Stay focused. I wrote to Cliff and told him to keep his eye on you.

Good Luck and Play Safe!!

David...go easy, look over to Cliff as you need to. Focus on him, think about his bags, smile, chuckle, laugh and relax. your going to have a couple of million prayers with each at bat, So just relax and play the game, that God has blessed you with the talent to play.
Ed G

Eaton Ohio

"D. Wright, I have to be there for him, help him get through all this. I know he wants to say he’s outgrown me, that he doesn’t need Cliffie. I don’t make him carry my bags anymore, but he’s still my little guy. Bad leg or not, I gotta look after my little guy".
WOW, WHAT A GREAT PAL!

GOOD LUCK TO YOU AND THE REST OF THE TEAM!

Hey David,
Just wanted to say GOOD LUCK tonight. Even though you guys don't need it. I will be at Thursdays game. I can't wait!!!

Let's Go Mets!!!!!!!!

Dave,

Just want to wish you and the Mets the very best. We're definitely pulling for you. We're all very proud of you and the rest of the Tidewater contingent in the Majors.

Mr. Beck

You guys are the most excited ball club I've ever rooted for. Thanks for being a classy player.

Hey David, No pressure or anything but I want to go to a TICKER TAPE PARADE! Good Luck to you and the guys, but you don't need it you all have skills. Love Ya, Theresa

David-
I've been a Met's fan since I could walk and talk and this has just been an incredible season. Good luck tonight, you guys will be amazing! And no matter what, I'll still believe. =)

Thanks for being the best fantasy third basemen around! Also, try and let Cliff Floyd know (gently of course) that you have surpassed him already and he should not be taking up valuable playoff roster spots.

stout what the heck is your problem? posting nasty things on cliff's blog all day long and on david's blog 2? get a life!

Hi baby, I just wanna say goodluck against the Cardinals and that I know we could win. This is our year and we are going all the way. I love you. Let's Go Mets!!!!!
-Veronica

And stout what the **** is your problem? You have no right saying mean things about Cliff Floyd. Espically on Cliff's blog. Cliff Floyd is a good player and done good by us. So you need to be quiet.

David,
The intensity you guys show on the field passes on to the fans !! Awsome!! It's great to see professional athletes of this caliber show these emotions...Thank you!

Franklin-

Mr. David Wright,

all I have to say is how much you and the METS deserve to be were you are right now. I was always and still forever proudto be a METS fan but Im overly proud to be a METS fan!!!

KIMBERELLA

I'm not going to do your laundry anymore!!!!!!!!!!!

Nomarter what happens...You guys will be heroes in my book. You have taken this beyond expectations and 'We-the fans' love u 4 it! No Matter what they say about 'us'- Mets being inferior to AL ? Huh? I know for a fact LoDuca's on our team now and rocks!!! since he blew the media away with his comments on how the NL is inferior to AL teams. BS. And We know it!

Hey David!

I know you have lots to read here so quickly we were at the Aug 24th game against the Cardinals. My 8 yr old son said the other day no fears mom we beat the Cardinals in Aug we will do it again Lets Go Mets !!!

His teacher is a Yankee fan. He brought him a pack of tissues on tuesday and told his teacher he might need these since the Yankees were out of the playoffs lol . Good Luck tonight althought i will be home not at the game I will be yelling as loud as anyone in the stadium lol

1 of your #1 fans

Raine

you came this far, this is your game, the mets game...finish it up and good luck!

Hey David,

Ok, so here is how I see it. You guys have this series in the bag. You can beat them in so many ways. If you don't beat them with your bats, you'll beat them with your speed. If you can't beat them with either of those, you'll wipe em out with your superior defense and/or that kicka** bullpen. And, if all else fails, you'll beat them with the fire and desire that you and we, the fans, have to win the whole **** thing. I have all the faith in the world in your ability...the whole team's. We, the fans will do everything WE can to pump you guys up in the stands, but you know that...lol. We're excited, can you blame us:)? Keep doing what you have been doing and it's in the bag.

On a somber note, I hope the team has some kind of tribute to Cory Lidle. What a waste of a promising young life:(

LETS GO METS!!!!!

Karin

Hey David,

Wow everyone was amazing you guys played a great game lastnite excitement from the first out to the last..David you made outstanding plays, so did Endy, Jose R, Jose V, Carlos B. and Carlos D. Congrats on the first win and Game 2 good luck guys..

Belated B'day to Jose V.. Nice B'day gift huh!!

Our prays goes out to Corey Lidle family you're in our prayers...

LETS GO METS WOOO

WHAT A GREAT GAME! i wish i was there-the fans were aweosme!!! keep up the great work! LETS GO METS!

WOW what a great game Mr. Wright last night. That catch you made in the 3rd inning was amamzing. You are the best. Tell Beltran to keep up the good work I was screaming when he hit that 2-run homer. Ask him how he does it? I LOVE THE METS! You guys are the best of the best! Keep it up Game 2 tonight let's go beat STL!!!!!!! SWEEP SWEEP SWEEP

Hey David - I read your article in peoples magazine and it caught my interest. I'm 24 and in the field of Public Relations so i flip through a lot of media stuff from time to time. I'm kind of jealous of you guys having to go to St. Louis because its supposed to snow there and i'm a huge snowboarder. Being in between the time one can go to the beach to the time you can hit the mountains makes me antsy! lol Anyway, i make a lot of trips into the city for work and i have a couple friends in Manhattan so if you are ever around and want to get a drink or something let me know. Good luck the next couple of days and I hope to see you at the World Series party!
- Jennifer -

Hey David!
Great game last night! You made some amazing plays last night! (: Not just you, but Valentin, Chavez, Beltran, Reyes, and Delgado. Hopefully Floyd will be okay. No pressure, but just think. If you guys win the next seven games in a row, you guys will be World Series Champions! That would be really sweet! Well, good luck tonight!

Love you David!

<3, Katie Wright lol.

Hey David
I was at the game last night. Amazing double plays you made. The team is incredible. I LOVE the way you all stand by each other. Everyone contributes there is not just one star on the team. You guys all shine in your own way. That what makes you guys invinceable!!!! Good Luck in game 2 tonight. You guys are going all the way.

LETS GO METS!!!!!!!

Hey David,

Do me a favor..tell Reyes that everyone LOVES his enthusiasm. He's so much fun to watch when he gets all excited. Like, for instance, when Delgado hit his homers in tonights game. He was dancing around in the dugout and i LOVE That dance he and Delgado do. It's nice to see you all having so much fun and at the same time getting the job done:)

Karin

Hey David,

Tough loss last night but keep on playing the way you guys haved played al year. I love it when you guys have fun. Hope to see you guys in the world series.

hey david,
sorry about last night, dont worry you guys still have another game tonite.I love you and i wish i knew you!Good luck , and dont worry you have a tremendous support group, thats backing you up 24/7.

--Jayme xoxo

I didn't have a problem with losing last night's game as much as I did seeing a dull crowd. The energy wasn't there and a weird vibe came from people. I don't know if it was due to too many celebrities or from 'bandwagon' fans that booed. I yelled at one fan who said Valentin wasn't good. I told them to shut up because they weren't at every home game during the regular season to see that he was a major reason the Mets went so far this year. I got mad last night and especially after when Wagner came in to the game, the crowd didn't support him. I'm sure you probably heard me because you could have heard a pin drop when he was pitching. I kept cheering and rooting for him. It didn't work out but he's been awesome this year for the most part. Just relax and play baseball. You guys have been waiting for this moment all year. Glad I could share the memories and I pray you guys will win it all! Joy

Hi David:

I too, remember watching the Subway Series back in 2000, and the energy was so surreal, it made me homesick while I was attending school in San Diego. Now, here we are again, the MEts in the playoffs, and me in San Diego. However, there is a bond amongst Mets fans nationwide. I have been wearing Mets gear everyday a game has been scheduled, and I always get comments from, and run into fellow Mets fans, 3000 miles away from Queens!! The buzz is all over the country! Know that we are ALL behind you, no matter where we are. Thanks for helping to make this season one of the greatest in a long time!!!

Please tell me [guns -n-roses guy in the front row] is not who you are playing for. Who cares who's out there...Just play for us [your fans every day/no matter what behind you all the way]...you need to block it all out! If you guys lose tonight, it's not the end of the world! I'm freaking out and wish I could be there. I checked online after the first inning to see if I could fly to St. Louis to give you guys support but I can't do $890 for one night (flight & hotel only)...Wish I could! I will be watching from home. You need to believe you are better than them and you'll do it. Remember the regular season like it was yesterday? That's how you've gotta play! No matter what...I love you guys:) Joy (And if you get the chance, listen to all pump up songs like: I'm Free-Kenny Loggins/ Hero of the Day--Metallica/Country Boy Can Survive (for Wagner)--Hanke n Merle/ Cat's and the Cradle--Cat Stevens/Eye of the Tiger--Journey/Broken Wings (revise)--Tupac//Wild Horses--Natasha Bedingfield/ Because of You--Kelly Clarkson/Dust yourself off--Hank Williams Jr.) But, it's not about me or any other fan, It's about you guys because you got us to where you are.

David, I just wanted to say remember your happy place like Happy Gilmore. I know you can hit. You have proven that all season. You just need to relax and keep having fun. This is baseball!!! and you need to keep having fun!!!! I have been a Mets fan for as long as I can remember and this has been one of the best seasons. Watching you all play has been so much FUN! I believe in you and so do all your fans. Keep your head up! luv ya, Metsbabe

Good grief, I hate all these Mets fans that are "falling off" the bandwagon.

But seriously all they have to do is look at the records going back to the regular season! Baseball is a game of streaks.

The Tigers lost 5 games to end the season, then lost game 1 to the Yankees. A six game losing steak before winning 7 in a row because they were due to win.

The Mets ended the season winning their last 4, add that to the playoffs and they have won 8 straight ball games. They were due to lose. A two or three game losing streak is nothing for this team (let's just hope it's not a four game losing streak). They will bounce back and win the whole thing cause the Tigers have reached their limit.

Hey David, you and the guys need to be more agressive. Mix things up, swing at the first pitch, on 2-0 and 3-1 counts, and stop taking those strikes against the likes of Suppan and Carpenter. Destroy those red birds ! Good luck and good hunting.

Jack

David, everything seems to be going the Cardinals way right now, but if there was ever a team that could issue a resounding "I DON'T THINK SO" to the baseball gods, it's the 2006 Mets. We believe in you guys, so continue to believe in yourselves. You are a great team. Just one timely hit or one great defensive play can change the momentum back to our side. May today be the day that happens!! LET'S GO METS!

David,

All of this must be so over whelming for you, I mean in your 2nd year you have accomplished so many beautiful things. Your an amazing player and we are all so proud of you. I know that your family and friends are with you cheering you on as well as the rest of us that cannot be in the stands with you. Remember to BREATHE!!! One play...one bat...one pitch...one inning...let it all come to you one step at a time. You guys are going to pull through and I cannot wait. We have faith in you and the AMAZING team you play on. And to be honest I have many friends who are obsessed with the Yankees and I make them all watch the METS games with me, they tell me that if they can't go to the World Series what better team to make it than the NY METS!!!! The team is in my prayers.

Michelyn

Hi David,

There's a line in the movie Bull Durham where Crash is talking to Nuke on the mound. He says, "This game is fun." he pounds the ball back in Nuke's mitt and then says, "Lets have some fun.". You gotta have fun. When you and the guys are having fun, Oh Boy, you're fans are having great fun!. So all of you, go out in the fresh air and play and have some FUUUUUUUUUN!

I'm old enough to be your mother so listen to me.

Love and Good Luck!

Hey Dave;
While I may not be exactly , as the lady put it, "Old enough to be your mother"...I am exactly twice your age. Big Deal though-It's all a state of mind-an attitude.

AM I appearing paranoid or have some of you guys lost or misplaced that "attitude" that made this year so good to watch?

I thought I noticed a different look on the faces of several of you guys since the All Star Break.

Yes, you guys were numero uno all over the place in all categories, but it appears since then, that some of the efforts you guys were giving prior to the all star game are missing lately.

I know I will catch all kinds of **** from other Mets fans here, but I am more concerned about all of you guys, and you a bit more than others, keeping, maintaining and displaying around the clock, that :"We are going to run right through the centerfield wall full steam..." attitude that typified this season for the Mets.

I went to my first Mets game in May of 1970 and I think it was the Cubs we played, but who the **** knows at this date. I have been a METS fan all along and that, historically, has been a neurotic affair.

Same with the Jets though...

Wayne Garrett, Ray Knight and you man, are the only real third basemen the Mets have actually had in their long neurotic history-in my opinion.

To finish, do as the lady said. Have fun and display that typical NY attitude the rest of the country can't stand. Especially to these St. Louis yahoos.

St. Louis. I mean come on, what the **** do they do for entertainment when their Red birds are being shot down? Jump in the river and wait till they get to New Orleans to have some fun????

I realize we don't have the pitching we sure could use, but that is just a molehill, NOT A MOUNTAIN!!!

You guys with the bats are the mountain men and tonight you head for the peak, OK?

Thanks Dave,

And bring that fire in your eyes look to every at bat and ground ball!!!!!!!

Hey David!
I can't believe that the Cardinals keep winning! What is happening to the Amazing Mets? I wish I could come out to a game in St. Louis to support you guys, but unfortunately that isn't going to work. ): Who knows, maybe you'll pull it out tonight. (no presssure) Well, good luck tonight!

Love you David!

<3, Katie

hea David,
I don't understand whats been happening! You guys just need to relax and have fun. Good luck tonight and lets even this series up. I love you David!

LETS GOOOOO METS!!!!!

-Lindsy

Hi David, What is going on with you and the Mets? Espically you? Your not batting at all. Everytime you come up to bat, you either popup, groundout, or strikeout. And I know that is not you at all, because you are better than that. I don't know if your cold because I know you are not use to playing in the cold or it's just because you are just having difficult times batting lately. Whatever it is just relax and try to get through it as best as you can okay. You know us Met fans are there for you and I'm there for you okay. We really need you to bat right now and hit. We really do need hits and some runs right now. Also cuz my aunt and uncle keep giving me a hard time saying your not doing anything and that your not batting at all. And I know I can't say anything about it because it's true. (I just tell them to be quiet though.) And please don't think I'm trying to be mean cuz you know I love you and I will never do or say anything to disrespect you or hurt you but you know it is true. Right now your not really doing anything. Well, goodluck in tonight's game okay. Let's even the series 2-2. No matter what I know you are going to get out of that slump and come threw for us. Thats just the tpye of person you are. And I know that we got this and we are going to win the World Series because this is our year. We worked too hard and too long to lose now. Nobody is going to take this away from us. Well talk to you later. I love you so much. (I really do mean it)
Let's Go Mets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

-Veronica

Hey David, Hope you read this before we lose game 4.You changed your swing since the all star break.WHy havent you or Rick Downs looked at the videos of you before the HR contest.Good luck tonite-and to all Mets fans-Good luck to us !!!!!!!!!! LETS GO METS

David,
tonight's the night! you guys gotta tie up the series! this is your time to shine! you guys are gonna pull through i know it! this is your season! you can do it! i love you!

YOUR B~I~G~G~E~S~T *FA*N*

David,
I know you've been focusing on the play offs and wanted to send some good luck your way. I was at games 1 and 2 and will be back for game 6 to see you clinch the National League Title! All the best to Mets...you've got the best fans in the world behind you and I'm proud to say that I've been one since I can remember watching MLB.

Lets Go Mets...Ya' Gotta' Believe!!!!

Christine Keen

Hey David,

I have been a Mets fan for longer that you have been alive and I love you guys to death, but you all need a serious kick in the ***. You are the BEST team in the league and yet you are letting those clowns walk all over you. What's going on??? In game 3 it was understandable because everyone was tired, but you still managed to get it going. That was a tough loss, but at least you guys kept battling back. You had the fire in the belly that night. So, what in God's name happened last night??? You are the better team. We, the fans know it, you all know it, NOW PROVE IT to them!!! Steve buried you guys in the 1st and 2nd, but you had 7 innings to get those runs back and ..nothing! My father and I just sat on the couch in utter disbelief. That wasn't the team we have seen battling all season. I love you guys to death and I will always support you, but I have to tell you, I am getting worried.

I am going to test a theory tonight. I know a lot of athletes are superstitious and so am I. Everytime I wear my Wright or Reyes jerseys during a game, you guys win. I didn't the last couple of nights because they were dirty. They are clean now, so I will do all I can, but you guys have to get it done. Oh, and stop with the near collisions. I appreciate your effort, but you scared the **** out of me. Good luck tonight! Show them who's boss!

Karin

D-Wright, big rip tonight baby. Way to go. Keep it going and thanks for a great season. Go Mets!!!

MR. Wright

You see what I mean you are the best of the best. That Homer you made in the 3rd inning was beautiful. I think I shed a tear. Tell Beltran, Delgado, and Valentin job well done. You guys are on top. 12-5 OMG! I know it's not good to make fun of people but you whoopped some serious BOOTY! It's the "WRIGHT" time and I LOVE YA!!!! :)

now THATS what im talking about!!!! awesome game last night-u guys were all incredible; keep that up for the next 2 games!!!! :) glavine's gonna rock tonight! LETS GO METS!!!!!!!

Hey David,
You are my favorite baseball player! You're awesome!! Good job on getting that homerun last night. Good luck to you and the rest of the guys and I'll be seeing you in the World Series. You guys definitely deserve it. Go Mets!!!!

Hey David!
I can’t tell you how happy I was that you got out of your slump last night. You guys rocked Busch Stadium. And you can do it again tonight with Glavine pitching. I still can’t get over it: 12-5, good God!! Just remember to play it one game at a time. You are an awesome athlete. Keep it up buddy and I’ll be watching you in the World Series! GO METS!!

Love ya, Ashley B

Hey David!
Nice win last night! You guys really needed that win. You crushed that homerun in the 3rd inning! (: I was screaming really loud for you when you hit your homerun! Good luck tonight!

Love you lots!

xoxo, Katie

Hello David,

Great game last nite and nice Homer from you, Carlos B and Carlos D. you guys were as always amazing, Perez you did wonderful.. Good Luck in tonites game and all the best..

LETS GO METS...

Just wanted to say a BIG CONGRATS to you all. You deserve it all. I've been a Mets fan since the day I was born. I have a good feeling about this year & it's so great you all get along so great with each other. You can feel the bond you all have with one another. Best of luck to you. XOXO..Christine
P.S- I had a dream last night about winning the big one (crazy huh?)

David,

Way to break out of your little funk last night. I kept saying you were due and before I knew it you knocked one out and man did you crush that ball. I have to admit, I was getting worried, but you guys played a great game last night. i almost felt bad for the Card's bullpen....almost..hahaha. I just kept saying "Holy ****, there's stioll nobody out" I knew you'd break it open. I had to be up at 5:30 and technically I could have gone to bed in the 7th, but I wanted to watch the Cards squirm. I cannot tell you how much I enjoy watching you guys shut down Puhjolz (SP?) especially after he ran his mouth about Glavine not being good. What a jerk. How could he say that? Afterall, he shut him down:) Keep doin what you are doing and NEVER say die! This is your year and I already have already planned to take the day of the ticker tape parade off. No pressure;)

Much love,

Karin

Hey David,

Great win last night. My Yankee fan friends (who wish they had you on their team playing third, but just cant admit it) were saying you guys were finished, and I said well be finished soon... after we win the world series! Great homer last night. Good luck in the game tonight, hit one out for me!

I wish u guys the best of luck!
I love you David and Reyes. And i know we r going to be da champions this year. ALL THE LUCK

VANESSA

Hey Baby, how are you doing? What a homerun you hit to give us the lead 2-1 and than winning the game 12-5. I'm glad you are getting out of that funk you were in. I was so happy when you hit that homerun, I was yelling at the top of my lungs. LOL. Unfortantely you are not playing tonight due to the count of rain but at least you get one more day of rest. So that is good for you and Glavine. I have codifence that Glavine will pitch a good game for us though. Well goodluck to you and Mets in tommorrow's night game. I know we could win and make the series 3-2. By the end of this, I know we are going to be the 2006 World Series Champions. Well talk to you later. Keep hitting. I love you. Let's Go Mets!!!!!!!!!!!!
-Veronica

HEYY DAIVD,

I just wanted to say that win against the Cardinals on the 15th was great to watch. Even though it was a great game it was hard to get up for school the next day. (lol) I think that the homeruns you and delgado hit really got the mets started. I WISH YOU< THE GUYS IN THE CLUBHOUSE AND COACHES GOOD LUCK!!!!! (the mets are gonna win the world series)

luv ya and all the mets!

Emily

David

I love you.

Do you have a girlfriend ;] ?

David,
I have to laugh every time I hear your name because that is my fathers name too. I remember the first time I heard your name called during a game. I did a double take...it caught me off guard! The other night my father was watching the game and he all of the sudden yelled down the hall that he was up to bat. I laughed real hard. Let us just say he looks nothing like you. Big beer belly, and old. Just thought it would be something fun to share. Good luck with all your games=)

Jackie Wright-Cincinnati Ohio

David,
I am so proud to be a Met fan right now. I've watched game after game for the last 25 years and as far as I'm concerned this 2006 team is more exiting than the 86 team. Every night I say a little prayer for each of you, that God gives you the strength to do your best...

No matter the outcome of this season each member of the Mets has proven how special they are, with you at the center of it all. Godspeed team.

Rosanne

David, I just saw an article on you. I absolutly love baseball it's a serious family sport. I really want to come see u play live. good work
Jenna Durocher: Alberta,Canada

Love,

Kerri

Hey Davey,

You need to loosen up a bit and enjoy the game! You don't look like you're having any fun this post season. It looks like you're uptight and worrying about doing well. You love this game! Have fun playing it!!

Best of luck,

~Dan

Hey David,
Just wishing you, and the team, the best of luck tomorrow. You guys have come a long way and seeing your faces tonight was a little disappointing. We did lose, yes, but we also have two games we can win and head off to the World Series. Keep your head up high, and make sure the rest of your team mates do as well. I'll be cheering you guys on tomorrow at Shea. Get those spirits up, and kick some b*tt!! Best of luck to all.

Jen

Hi David!
You were awesome tonight, just keep your head up and spirits high when you come back home to Shea for tomorrow night's game...they won't beat you guys in your own house!!! You're a New-Yorker now, and no one pushes us around ;)!! Good luck and I hope you and the rest of the Amazin' Mets kick some major Cardinal you-know-what!!

Love always,

Rebecca

Hi David,

Everyone was great and played well in last nights don't let that get to you we have tonites game keep hope alive we're behind each and everyone of you.. METS4LIFE

Hey David,

Don't worry about last night. You were awesome in my book. Tell Valentin to keep up the good work. Oh and by the way tell Eckrstein or whatevr his name is that if I see him on the street I will be throwing a rock at him. STL ***!!!!! GO METS!!! I LOVE YOU Mr. Wright!!!

Hey David - you guys played well last night. Tough break, though. It looks like you are getting totally frustrated out there. I know you're going through a bit of a rough patch, but remember to have fun. You're getting paid to do something that you love. Not everyone is that lucky. I think that if you lighten up a little you'll get more hits. The pitching is tougher in the post-season, and Weaver proved that to you guys last night. I'm just sorry that Glavine couldn't find his groove. The Mets are better than the Cards... go out there tonight and prove it like you did on Sunday. You rock!

Love ya, Ashley B

Hey David - What's up??It's me Jennifer from Staten Island...How are you feeling right now - I could see threw watching you on T.V exited & anxious - You are great & so are your teammates - Tonight you play at home I'll be watching.. Hi David

I know that 3rd baseman Rolen is your idol, make his head turn tonight as well as all the other Cardinals. The World Series is so close you can taste it best to you all tonight!

Hey David,
Good luck, tonight. I hope you and your teammates hit alot run tonight at Shea Stadium. I was glad to see you get a hit last night. You are an awesome ball player. You are hansome. I'm sending a big GOOD LUCK to you tonight. We'll all be wishig for the best. I know all you need are your fans at home routing you on. I can't be at them game :-( but I'll be home on my couch with your jersey on cheering you on.

David,
It's just like taking BP back in Virginia, baby. You've stood in the batters box a hundred thousand times in your life. On this 'grand stage', it's the same. See the ball, hit the ball, work the count, drive the ball the other way. Do the things you always do. Don't press. Legends aren't born in an instant. One hit at a time, brother. You'll snap out of this slump and put the guys on your back. Keeping hope alive...

-Mark

David,
Hey Im rooting 4 you 2nite. Everyone in my family is rooting 4 the Cardinals but I`m rooting for u guys. GO METS and I am wearing your number for volleyball this year and 2nite.

Hey David!
Just wanted to wish you and the Mets good luck tonight. No matter what happens, I will always love you guys! (especially you)lol. (: Unfortunately I can't come out to Shea to the game, but I will be sitting in my living room with my Mets pajama pants and my David Wright jersey on. (who knows, maybe if I wear my lucky pajamas you guys will win. no pressure though.) My mom told me that a lot of people are saying that you guys are going to win tonight, so hopefully that's true! Even if we can't make it to the World Series, (hopefully you will though) you guys had an amazing season. Don't worry about the little slump, you'll break out of it! You did it once, so you can definitely do it again.

LET'S GO METS!!!!!

Love you lots,

<3, Katie

You're shoulder is flying open every time and you're yanking at the ball. Keep your shoulder closed, GO THE OTHER WAY with the ball. I predict if you read this you'll go 3-3 tonight vs Carpenter with a HR.

Man was I on the edge of my seat during the 9th last night. I'm not sure I can watch tonight, but I will. You guys did great. Props to the Maine man for holding off the Cards. People are very skeptical about Perez pitching tonight - I have faith in him. You guys proved that you are the better team last night. Go out there and do it again! Oh, and can you do me a favor? Can you get Belliard some chapstick? I'm about sick of seeing his tongue!! Good luck :) You guys rock!

Love ya, Ashley B.

David,

Good luck tonight in game 7! This whole season has been so exciting, enjoy the feeling! I'm sure that we're going to make it to the series, but even if we don't, this season has been one **** of a ride for the fans, I can't even imagine what it must feel like for you guys, actually out there playing every game...but I just wanted you to remember that Mets fans are diehard fans, regardless of the outcome! I just hope that you guys are having as much fun playing as we are watching the games and cheering you on. Best of luck!

With love,

Ashley

Hi David, last night game was so exicting. Maine espically pithched well for us last night. Tonight is Game 7 and I'm so excited but at the same time I'm nervous. I believe that we could win though. We just gotta be playing like we been playing all year. We gotta bat, have defense, and most importantley have FUN. I'm not even gonna say nothing about us not making it to the World Series cuz I know this is our year and we are going to win the World Series. That is the only thing I been saying since the season started. Well the best of luck to you and the rest of Mets. I know we could win. YOU GOTTA BELIEVE! I LOVE YOU. LET'S GO METS!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey David!
Last night was amazing! (: You guys played really well! I'll have to wear my lucky pajamas again. I was getting a little nervous when the bases were loaded with Rolen coming up to bat. (I almost had to close my eyes. lol.) I also got pretty nervous when Wagner came in the ninth. Maine pitched really well. Just go out there tonight, relax and have fun! By the way, I loved the New York Post article/picture with you and your mom. It was too cute! (: Good luck tonight and HOPEFULLY, HOPEFULLY I will see you in the World Series!

Love you David!

xoxoxoxoxoxo, Katie <3

As a long time Met fan I want to assure you there is no disappointment here. It has been an incredibly exciting year & NLCS series. I can't fault you for falling short without giving you the credit for getting us here in the first place. We'll get them next year.

David!
You guys have so much to be proud of this season. It was absolutely amazing and made me so so proud to be a Mets fan. Every single one of you put so much into this season and this series, and we definitely gave those Cardinals a **** of a fight. Best of luck in the off season, I'm already counting down the days until spring training!

Sorry about how things went tonight. But thanks for a beautiful season, it's been inspiring watching you guys come together and face adversity like you did.

I know you'll keep that chemistry and only increase the hunger. I'm sure I speak for a lot of fans when I say that now more than ever,

I BELIEVE.

Hey David,

Just wanted to say thanks for an incredible season!! Thou we lost, you, reyes, lo duca, valentin and the rest of the gang did exceptionally well!! You all showed how it is to be a team; with the chemistry in the field as well as the closeness in the dug-out and outside. I'm sure I speak for many when I say, THE METS ARE NUMBER ONE!!!

Have fun in the off season. Can't wait to see you next year!!!

<3<3<3

Maridel

PS. Tell Willie I thought it was very clever to have Floyd pinch hit in the end. I love that he truely believes in his players. There's no other manager like him!!! Tell him thanks for the great season as well. i<3u

I've been a fan for as long as I can remember. You guys did so well this season! Congrats on a great year! Thanks for giving life-long Mets fans something to cheer about! God bless!
Love, Virginia's #1 Mets Fan!

ok so we fell shjort, and i know the dissapointment i feel is nothing compared to you guys who played your hearts out and just came up short. But keep your head up you are a bright young star for an even brighter young team and next year will be a blast. P.S. try to get a word in with Omar to do what it takes to get Ollie Perez back next season. I was estatic when i learned we acquired him from the pirates, that kid is a stud with ice water in his veins. Unvelievable season, it was a **** of a ride, and i had a blast watching you play, now go get ready for next season because not a **** thing will stop us in 07 baby. Just remember ya gotta believe

Hey David,

We suffered a terrible loss last night but that is no reason to hang your head low. ALL US FANS LOVE YOU GUYS NO MATTER WHAT - YOU SHOULD FEEL PROUD OF YOURSELVES! I couldn't have asked for a better team. We've got power, talent, and everything we need - it just wasn't destined in the stars this year. No worries, there is always next year and your fans will be counting down the days 'til spring training. You are amazing and I know that we will make it next year, I can feel it already :)

You guys are still the greatest team in baseball, and you will FOREVER be my favorite player!

I wear my David Wright jersey and pin with pride today - and nothing will ever change. You have made me more happy this season than you know :)

Let's Keep Up the Great Work and make it next season!

M-E-T-S ~ METS! METS! METS!

The elements just weren't in your favor last night. That game is going in the classics archive for sure. Tied score basically the whole game, Chavez's catch in the 6th, bases loaded in the bottom of the 9th... I know it was a rough series for you, David, and I was so sure that we were going to see you shine bright in the World Series. Next year. You guys will be untouchable next year. Stay healthy, stay great, and have some fun on the off-season. Drop me a line when you come down to FL in January!! :) I sure wish I could go to the Do The Wright Thing Gala, but I just don't have $750, plus airfare and hotel.
You guys will forever be the Amazin' Mets.

Love ya, Ashley B.

Hey David, Congratulations to you and the guys, Thanks for an EXCITING,AMAZING season. Be proud of yourselves for all that you've achieved this season. And get'em next year. Love ya, Theresa

Hey David

You will get them next year.

LETS GO METS!!!!!!!!!

LOVE DEANA

Hey David,
I am a huge fan of the Mets and have been since I was born. My mom was in labor during the 86 world series with me, my brother and sister (as you can tell I'm a triplet). The fact that you guys lost last night isn't the worst thing in the world because you guys made this far which is a huge accomplishment. I hope next season is exciting as this one was. Good luck and have fun on your time off!

Love Ali

Hey David,

I am heartbroken that you guys didn't advance to the WS, but one thing the Cardinals can't say is that they wanted it more. You guys played with such heart and displayed that never say die attitude. You battled That catch by Cahvez was INSANE! You have NOTHING to be ashamed of at all. You have accomplished so much this year so you should be proud of yourselves.Iwant you to know that we love you guys and we, the fans, will always support you no matter what. Think of us as an extended family. It must be twice as hard for you because you grew up as a Mets fan and you KNOW first hand what it feels like for us. I know you wanted to win, but look at it this way, you have more time with your family and friends. We'll get 'em next year. Keep your head up and be proud of the amazing season you had individually, as well as as a team. You are THE BEST, you just came up a little short and that's ok, we still love you and are all still behind you. Have a great off season! See you at Spring Training.

Much love,

Karin

Thank you for an amazing season - you guys were outstanding. While last night was dissapointing, the team did not dissapoint. See you next year.

Thank you for a GREAT season! I'm REALLY proud of you guys. I can't wait 'till next year.

Yo #5

You and the Mets did so good his year and im happy to be apart of the 06 season as a die hard mets fan and i just wanted to let you no your one of my favorite players to watch lots of skill keep it up good luck next year

The Cards and the Mets displayed last night what baseball is all about. It was a classic end to a classic series. Both teams displayed how to win and lose. Is it possible we all witnessed on Fox last night that there is more to our national pastime than a "W?" After the game, I called my son who lives 6 hours away to simply savor the moment of two very gracious teams complimenting and respecting each other. We should all follow their lead...

Hi David!
Alas, the season is over, but it was a great year. I was at the game last night and Shea Stadium was rockin' (literally). Perez pitched really well and Endy's catch will be talked about for a lont time. Although it's a shame that you guys didn't advance to the World Series, it was still a great and exciting game to the very end. I'm looking forward to 2007. Have a great off season and see you next year!

hey dave,
sorry about last night game, you guys deserved this years world series ring!you guys had a fantastic season. you guys are gonna have a great next season, no doubt about it! i cant wait until next year! i love you!!!!

-- jayme xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo

p.s tell endy i said outstanding catch!

Hey David,

Thanks for the magical year. Its a shame we didn't go to the Series, but you have to tip your cap to the Cards. They just beat us, fair and square. We just have to move on and get prepared for next year. By the way tell Aaron to not feel bad, the wind totally carried that ball, just bad luck. See you next year.

LETS GO METS 07!!!!!!!!!!

David,
Sorry that you guys didn`t win last night, you guys should be the ones to face against Detriot and win the World Series. Wait till next year. See you @ Shea sometime next year. GO METS!!! -Ashley

Hey David. You are now making over 9 million dollars a year. 9 Million!

You did nothing after the all star break. Nothing. You were a total non factor in the playoffs.

How about

1. You stop appearing on David Letterman mid season

2. You stop christening airplanes and doinig commercials for whacked out religious nuts on channel 1000 at 2 am

3. You stop interviewing with any guy with a microphone with cliche answers.

Its time to stop making like Brad Pitt and go back to playing baseball again.

Hey David,
Sorry you guys didnt win last night. Unfortunatley i was there and had to watch the Birds win on our turf, which stinks like no other. But in the end, it was a very exciting game and you guys kept us on our toes most of the time, and you guys didnt give up without a fight!! Thank you guys sooo much for an unbelievable season and dont worry, we'll be back next year, you can count on that!!! Its not over for the AMAZIN' mets!!! So tell Endy what an incredible catch, and enjoy your off-season!! Rest up buddy so you can come back strong!! Love you!!! xoxoxo ~Sam

Dear Mr. Wright,

Your dismal performance in the postseason would improve it you tried swinging the bat every now and again with intent. It is not that hard. Just pick the bat off your shoulder and swing it. That little white thing coming at you--sir, that is the ball. Your job it to try to hit it. You have 9 million reasons to do so. Kindly do your job. We all pay your salary, albeit indirectly, and we are not very satisfied with your performance. You have a great deal of talent. We all like you and know you have it in you to improve. Please try harder. Thank you in advance for your attention to this imporant matter.

Sincerely,

Fans of the NY Mets

David,
Wow what a series. You guys were soooo close. It's tough with the injuries but you guys still did awesome. It may hurt now i know i was crying last night but to come this far after so many years of close to last place is amazin'.

Who ever wrote that comment above is crazy. Obviously it's a lot harder to hit a ball thats flying at you at 90+ miles an hour is harder than they think it is. You are an all around great playing and I can't wait for next season.

Let's Do It Next Year

with love always

Kellie

David,

I cannot believe what i just read. The previous comment that i wrote was written before i read the other recent comments.

Anyone who wantd to critisize you on the season that you had is crazy. You along with Jose are the best things that has happened to this team in a real long time. You guys are the new stars to look at. I think its great that you are involved with things off the field. It give all your fans a chance to see the real David without his agme face on. You are absolutely fabulous. Once again I can't wait for next year. I hope you don't stop blogging just because a few weird people are saying bad things.

With love Kellie

PS tell Endy" WOWOWOW AMAZIN' catch."

also congradulate everyone for an oustanding performance. Maine, Perez, oliver, Hielman, Glavin and everyone else.

Rather than dwelling on what you could have done, look at what you've done. This year, all summer, has been one of the best year histories in Mets history with record-breaking moments and a pride that is now 'back' in the hearts of every Met fan. You guys played your hearts out every single day and noone who is a true fan can blame you for not winning it all. This was just a taste for all the new 'Dynasty' Met-rookies, including yourself to anticipate for spring training and next year in ['07]. This has been the best year for me as a Met fan for as long as I can remember and I'm proud of the job you have done as a team. Thanks from the bottom of my heart. Get back out there next year and begin the new Met Era!! xo-Joy

Hi David,

I just wanted to drop in and tell you that I am sorry that the game didn't go the way you had wished last night I am sure. I am from St. Louis and a huge Cards fan but I will admit I was punched several times in the arm throughout the series for cheering for you!! I have the bruises to prove it. :) You are a great ball player and I am sure we will see lots more of you in years to come!! See you at spring training!!

Your newest fan,

Mandy from the Lou!

Hi baby, first I just wanna say that don't listen to those stupid people who was saying bad things about you because you know what they say ins't true. And you know if they wrote that then they are not real met fans. They are just fake. Also the commet that sjb.law wrote, talking about that hitting the ball ins't hard and then the nerve to say sincerley Fans of N.Y. Don't listen to him either cuz you know all the met fans don't think like that. Uspet the ones that are just fake. You know that you are an important part of the mets ballclub and you did an amazing job for us. You accomplished so much already and it only being your second year, knowing that you are just going to keep doing more as long as your a met. (Hopefully for your whole career) What I'm trying to say is that you know your good and that the Met fans love you. But of course I LOVE YOU the most. Even though we didn't win this year, I know it will definateley be a fight in 2007. I know it was a sad moment to see the Cardinals win in our house knowing that their going to the World Series cuz I had cry a little bit and was mad and really sad. The whole night, inculding right now, that is the only thing I been thinking about. The game that we lost. But you know what, at least we made it this far. At least we showed that even with the injuries, with the pitching, and with us being in a slump at times, we were still able to win ball games and make it to the postseason, and pushed the series to Game 7. We showed that we could win and that we are capable of making and winning the World Series. You know the futrue looks really good for the Mets. I know 2007 is gonna be a good year. And I can't wait for it to come. I hope that you keep bloging next year also. I wanna thank you and the Mets for giving us a amazin year and giving us something to look forward to in the futrue. It truely was incredible. Please tell Chavez that he made an amazing catch to. I'll see you next year. And I know you heard this a lot of times from me but I truely do love you with all my heart and I will do anything for you. You are the best and #1. LET'S GO METS 2007!!!!!!!!!!!!
-Veronica

Just wanted to Wright in and say that you all had a great season. Sorry that you didn't make the Series, but hey..there's always next year. And I know Minaya will do his best to put the best team he can onto that field. None of ya'll have anything to be ashamed of. You have given us fans more than we could have hoped for this season. Can't wait for next year!!! Have a great offseason and we will see you in April!!!

I'm not too sure if you read these or not but I'm taking a chance and thinking that you do. I'm 15 years old and I am such a huge Met fan and have been for as long as I can remember. The past 3 weeks after my pitching clinic, my dad and I would race to the car to listen to the game. This season has been so amazing and although last night was tough, I only see better to come. Of course there need to be a few improvements but that's only normal. You can't be perfect. Anyways I just wanted to tell you that and that I LOVE YOU! You are such an amazing player and have brought so much to New York. Thank you for everything.

P.S. Marry me? :)

Hey David,
Im sorry about you guys not making it to the world series..but atleast you made it close..I was really counting on you guys to win..I figued it would go into extra innings.I was so mad last night but I no you guys did you best.It would of been really great if you guys made it to the world series cuz my grandmother♥ was a huge mets fan and she died in June and my family was saying after she died that the Mets were going to go to the World Series cuz my grandfather♥ was a Yankees fan and when he died the Yankees went to the world series and one so..that would of been Great if you did!!!anyway cant wait to see you play next season!!

love ya!♥

xoxo

Marissa

David,
I hope all is well! I must admit, I am a HUGE Yankees fan and was extremely happy the Mets lost the other day. However, as much as the Mets are a nemesis to me and the rest of my family (except my Mom -she is a Mets fan- ironicly?!), I absolutely love Willie Randolph and miss him being over w/ the Yankees. I knew he would be a great asset to the Mets and would help bring the organization back to respectability in a short amount of time. Also, to go along with a great, immensely talented group of players and coaching staff. I know that there is only one goal to achieve for every team and that is to ultimately win the World Series, unfortunately only one team can win. I guess that's what makes it more disappointing is that you were so close but yet so far. But, I just wanted to say that I love the game of baseball, I have the utmost respect for it and I always give credit where credit is due. You and the rest of the Mets have nothing to be ashamed of, you guys played your butts off all year and in the playoffs, it could have easily been the other way around. The change-up to Molina could have easily been down and he could have hit a ground ball and changed the complexity of the game. Unfortunately, that's baseball-it's unpredictable- anything can happen, that's what makes it so GREAT! Well, just keep your heads up, you and the rest of the team have a very bright future ahead of you. Even being a Yankees fan, I will enjoy watching you guys ;O)!!! Good luck and I wish you all the best!!

Take Care.

Love,

Heather F.

Toms River, NJ

P.S. I know you get this constantly, but you are absolutely gorgeous! I'm 22 and single ;o)!! (hey, it's worth a shot!)

sjb.law@gmail.com is a ****.

:)You have everything to be proud of.

David,

I just read through the new posts and I CANNOT believe the comments made by slb.law! It was NOT any one players fault that you guys didn't advance. As much as I love you guys, nobody really hit like they were capable of hitting in game 7, but people, especially the true fans, have to realize that that pain in the butt Suppan had GREAT stuff as did the bullpen. Forget all the negative nellies. The fact of the matter is that you guys got as far as you did without half your starters and as big as a fan as I am, I didn't think you'd make it that far, but MAN did you prove me wrong. I will admit that when I heard Perez was going to start game 7 my first thought was "Are they crazy?", but even he stepped up and got it done. Nobody expected that performance and I DO mean nobody. And that catch by Chavez was insane. I thought for sure that it was gone and then to turn what could have been a homer into a double play???? Simply AMAZING! I have said it before and I will say it again, you have NOTHING to hang your heads about. You worked hard and had a fantastic season (Come on, you went from 71-91 in 2005 to running away with the East from day 1 in 2006!!!!), you just came up a bit short. I am so proud of all of you guys. You are warriors! I was also SO impressed at how all fo you handled yourselves in the locker room after the loss. You are all consumate professionals. I am so sure all you wanted to do was either go out and get loaded or go home and go to sleep, but you guys answered all the questions that were asked. I just wanted to cry because you all looked so sad. Look at it this way sweetie, you are living one dream playing for the team you rooted for as a boy, now go get the other one next year. Enjoy the off season! Work hard, but take some time to play hard too! All work and no play makes David a dull guy:) We love you and will ALWAYS support you on and off the field!

Much love,

Karin

David,
What an amazing season you guys had. It seems just like yesterday I was watching you in the All-star game. You guys did amazing. What had happened in game 7 is that nobody was hitting. The defense was there but the offense didn't support it. In 2005 you guys were going ok and now you guys defeated all. The team will bring another amazing season to the fans and to new york. Lets go for more! Love you guys! You just gotta believe. 2007-We'll dominate again.

-Stephanie

Hey David

I'm a little dissapointed that you guys didn't made it to the world series but you guys had a amazing season to look back on. Next year we are going to better than ever and we love you guys so much. I'll miss seeing the team but I'll miss especially you on tv. I hope you keep writing during the offseason to keep in touch with your dearest fans and me (LOL).

Tough Game 7 loss. But congratulations on a phenomenal 2006 season. We're just beginning to see the kind of player you can be; and with you and Jose in our infield, the Mets will dominate the NL for years to come. Have a great offseason - and LET'S GO METS in '07! - Glen

Dear David,

I was hoping that you would have blogged your thoughts concerning your game 7 loss. I hope you're not discouraged--you guys did great this year! Lord willing, you'll be in the World Series next year!

Take care,

Mrs. Snyder

david--thank-you for a wonderful season--i had such fun watching the games at the stadium and at home--i was lucky enough to go to game 6 and i have never been in such an electric atmosphere in all my life--it was like everyone in the stadium was one big excited family--everyone was so connected, it was like being at a huge party with all your best friends--what an awesome accomplishment to bring all those people so close for one event--iknow losing the playoff was heartbreaking, especially the way it happened, but you guys should be nothing but proud of all you accomplished this year and the excitement you brought to the city--in this world were there is so much heartache, be proud yo gave so much fun ,excitement and joy to your fans--enjoy yor time off--see you in the spring--erin

Hey David and all of the Mets,

All of you brought so much to the city, and to us, this season and you should all be extremly proud of your accomplishments. I don't think I'm capable of ever expressing how much this season meant to me, but I hope that all of you realize what this team meant to the fans and how much joy and pride all of you gave us. The season ended in heartbreak, but I will always remember the 2006 season and this team fondly. This team was special and watching you guys play this year made most of us wish we were Mets with along with the 25 of you. March isn't that far off. The city will be empty and cold with out you guys here, but soon enough you'll be back and everybody will get together again at Shea to scream, drink and make the place shake. LET'S GO METS!

Keith Dennison

Hackettstown, NJ

Hey David!
Just wanted to tell you thanks again for an outstanding season. I know you guys will be just as good, if not better next season. I miss watching you play sooooooo much already! ): I know it's only been a couple of days, but it's so tough for me not to see you on TV. I taped the interview from the Letterman Show, the Chris Cotter interview after you got your walk off hit against the Yankees, and PostSeason Live, so I've been watching those. Unfortunately it's not the same. That play by Chavez on Thursday was so amazing! I don't know how he caught that ball! I hope you enjoy your time off. I know many people ask you this but if you get the chance, send me an e-mail. I would really love that! (: Also, don't listen to all those negative comments by some of these people. They have no idea what they're talking about. Ignore them. Well, have fun on your time off and I'll see you in the spring of 2007!

I love you David!

xoxoxo, Katie

Hey David!
Congrats on having a great season! Looking forward to '07! Me and my family are the biggest Mets fans in Wisconsin! If you've ever heard of and want to try curling, I could totally hook you up. (Feel free to bring Jose Reyes along too!)

Take care!

Casey

Dear Davi,
Its been two days since our season ended and boy has it been ruff.

But you know what we had a great season but the thing that bothers me the most is that we are SOOO much better then the Cardinals yet we couldnt do a thing. We should be in the World Series right now but the fact of the matter is we are not.

Anyway next year you guys will come through because after all you guys are the AMAZIN Mets!!!

Good luck to you and the team...THE NEW YORK METS!

Much Love xoxoxo

Dear David

Commiserations to all members of the Mets organization for such a gut wrenching loss in game 7. But congratulations on a truly amazing and exhilerating season. Keep your heads up high and be proud of what you have accomplished this year.

I feel sickened by the one or two negative comments you have received on here. Have these people ever stood in front of over 55,000 fans and tried to perform at their best under such pressured conditions? And remember how young you are, and how much you still have to learn.

Thank goodness you have intelligent, far seeing managers. Listen to them. And here's a quote from a poem by Wendy Cope, called "The Ted Williams Villanelle":-

"Don't let envious ******** bring you down. Ignore the sneers, the cant's. Watch the ball and do your thing.

Sing out if you want to sing. Jump up,when you long to dance. Don't let anybody mess with your swing.

Enjoy your talents. Have your fling. The seasons change. The years advance. Watch the ball and do your thing. And don't let anybody mess with your swing".

Good luck for next year oh great ones, and thanks for this years memories.

From your number one fan in England.

Hey David!
I just wanted to say thanks for an amazing, exciting and inspiring season. You guys really showed all of us what being a team is about. I was blessed to be at Game 1 of the NLCS and my best friend and I had a blast.

Until 2007 (maybe even Spring Training!),

Steph

David-
Hey.. how are you doing? It’s been a long road for you and the team especially this week: it was so heart breaking to see you guys loose. I know that you’ve certainly heard your fair share of that already. And I know I’ve not been a huge baseball fan let alone a Mets fan for very long but one thing that I do know is that you are amazing in so many ways. If just seeing you on a cover of children’s magazine, makes an impression on me and makes me want to follow you, the team and actually really like baseball more than ever: I think that’s an accomplishment!! I’ve watched many Mets games from the first sight of you on the magazine and your team has been amazing on all levels. I’m not so sure why the heck people are being so rude to you and tearing you to pieces with their venomous comments. Especially, about what you do off of the field: but as far as I’m concerned you can feel free to do whatever the heck you want to do. You go right on ahead and visit David Letterman, you dedicate planes and you make commercials for religious channels. Because you know what; you are so much more than a baseball player, there are many more beautiful aspects that make up who you are. Some day you will grow old as everyone does and you’re no longer going to be a baseball player and you need to have other things that fulfill you other than baseball. So my advice is to you live your life according to the way you feel you should, hold yourself accountable to your actions and enjoy the ride. One more final note, please, please keep up this blog, so many people are interested in your life and would love to be a part of it if they can-especially events for your foundation. Enjoy your off season, it is deserved: spend time with family, loved ones, friends- and let’s come back next season I’ll be watching along with so many others.

david-
thanks to you and willie and the team for making 2006 a year to be real proud to be a new york mets fan again. i can only imagine the cliches that are being thrown at you since thursday. however, i think that none of them is as important as, pardon the pun, "the learning curve". the great writer joseph campbell teaches us that every hero has to learn how to survive through trials and tribulations before learning how to succeed and then triumph. i believe that this season just past was a lesson learned and that we're all far better off as a result of it. so, here's hoping for an even more amazing '07! until then, take care of yourself. -rich

Hi baby, I just wanted to say hi and that I hope your enjoying your offseason. It's killing me to know that there is no mets game and to know that I have to wait till April again for the next season to start. And of course, I miss watching you soooooooooo much. I can't wait to see you again and for the season to start. I know its going to be better than last season. I also want to say that I hope the Cardinals get beat bad by Detriot. I hope they lose the World Series and start crying. LOL. Espically what they said about Glavine. Talking about that Glavine didn't pitched good, when they lost. That is stupid to say that. Well I'll talk to you later. I can't wait for 2007 and I LOVE YOU. LET'S GO METS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hey david, hope you guys arent too hung up over the loss the other night-i did sit there in shock for awhile, but you guys really had such an amazing season and you didnt let the cards take the series like detroit's sweep-u made them work for it and u showed them that the ny mets mean business!!!! i cant wait till next season-hope u guys come play the orioles so i can actually get to a mets game; its been waay too long! anyways, enjoy the time off, be well!! :)

if i know you...(which i really dont..lol) but i'm assuming you're in some type of depression.
how can u not be? we all had such high hopes, from the beginning of the season...oh well.

i wonder who u are rooting for, detroit or the cardinals...i cant make up my mind. in a way i want the cardinals to lose b/c they beat us and i hate everyone on their team now. lol

but onthe other hand, if they win it al...atleast we know we lost to the team that won it all...aand no one else was able to defeat them either. i dont know.

but i cant wait for next season! u guys did great. chin up.

David:
As a big fan, I'm going to ask you a big favor....PLEASE, PLEASE DON'T participate in the HR Derby next yr. I so hoped you wouldn't do it this yr. I had this sick feeling that it was going to mess up your swing and personally I think it did. You hit 20 HR's before the All-Star break and only 6 after. I hope you get the magic back, we missed you in the playoffs.

Fondly, Dori

Here's what I know, David. Without your performance in the regular season for the Mets in 2006, there would've been no playoffs. I guess some people have forgotten about that. Your appearances at the All-Star Game, Home Run Derby, David Letterman, etc. were never an issue ... not until blame had to be assessed for the Mets losing the NLCS. Let's face it, people ... the Mets won as a team and they lost as a team ... barely. Even at 75% they took it to the last out of the seventh game. If someone would've asked me if I'd like our chances with the bases loaded, bottom of the ninth, two outs, and Carlos Beltran (the Cardinal killer) at the plate, I would have said, "You bet your caboose, I would." Guess what? It wasn't meant to be. It's that simple. David, thank you for doing your part in giving Met fans one of the best seasons ever. I am so proud of what you all accomplished. What a ride!!! Enjoy the off-season, David, and thank you so much for taking the time to do this blog.

Hey David,
Awesome season! I was lucky enough to watch you guys play in Milwaukee this season, as my sis commented a couple days ago, me and my family ARE the biggestest Mets fans in Wisconsin! And she wasnt joking about the curling thing either. We'll be there next year in Milwaukee so have a nice off season, take a break, relax. You guys deserve it and we're looking forward to '07. Thanks for an unforgetable season.

Tim

Hi David,

Well, it was a heartbreaking loss, but I'm so proud of you guys anyway. You had an unbelievable season and it was so awesome to watch. I hope you're not too upset with the outcome, but I know it's hard not to be. Sometimes teams are just on fire, as the Cardinals were, and were very hard to beat. I know you gave it all you had and that's all anybody can ask for. I wish you were in the World Series now, but I guess it just wasn't meant to be. I still think we were the better team, but they were just hotter than us in the playoffs. Oh well.

I hope you're taking it okay and I hope you're starting to enjoy your off-season. Enjoy the holidays and the time you can spend with your family, friends and at events for your foundation. Rest, relax and have fun with Homer! I'm sure he'll be glad you're off!I hope you will still post once in awhile, as it would be great to hear from you.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving, a Happy Birthday, a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year! All the best to you and the New York Mets in 2007! Let's get 'em next year just like we did this year, and then some! Talk to you soon.

Love, Kathleen

David,
That was one heart-breaker. It ***** knowing that you were there and couldn't do it, being a Mets fan since I was born I know the pain of loss. My friends and I sat in disbelief in front of the TV for hours after the game crying and the next day we were still crying. As upset as we were our 'Mets' wall is still growing. I hope you have a great Birthday in December and enjoy your off-season. Let's come back and make it the '07 team that takes the title!!! See you in Spring Training!

Love, Brittany

David, many of us die-hard male fans were very disappointed that you choked when it counted. Your homers and RBIs in the regular season were nice, but you didn't do a thing in the playoffs even though you were 100% healthy. Not even one decent game unless you count the homer and hits during the one blowout game that didn't matter. Next year we'd like to see you work harder to regain your home run stroke which you completely lost after the All-Star break, while doing less media appearances, press conferences and Hollywood-type stuff. We still appreciate you as a player and hope you have many good years to come. We just hope you don't get caught up in all the hype and lose sight of your play on the field. Thank you.

I have been a Mets fan for 30 years (god I feel old) and I have to say the 2006 Mets were the best, most enjoyable team I have ever seen. You all were great, even with the pitching problems and whatnot. Sure I was upset after game 7 (okay, I cried) but you all were AMAZIN! I can't believe what people are posting here about your postseason. **** you are only 23 and look at what you accomplished this year. There is always next year. Enjoy your off season, Happy Thanksgiving, Happy B'day and Merry Xmas. I can't wait til spring training but I do hope you post here again, I check everyday to see if you did - I do miss reading them. Oh and thanks to you my 15 y/o daughter is now a diehard Mets fan (same year I started following them)and actually understands the game.
Mary Beth

Mr. David Wright,
i was just wondering when you were going to read your fan mail because i sent you a card a little while ago and i really wanted you to read it before my birthday but it kinda past already. i still would love if you could read it. thank you very much

KIMBERELLA

Dear Mr. Wright,

All MET fans realize that this was a terrible loss, however not the end of the world. You guys had a wonderful season and thank you for the whole season of enjoyment.

Enjoy your well earned time off with your family, and rest assure that millions of MET fans are awaiting next year and watching you and your teammates play.

METS FOREVER!

Hello David,

I want to thank you and the guys for a great season...have a great post season with your family and rest up! Looking forward to next season...

How about some bowling when you get home??

**** Rose - Virginia Beach, VA

Hey Mr. Wright

I don't know if you really read these...but if you do i just want to say thanks for a great season... don't listen to the hypocrits that put you down...you are the best! Game 7 kept me on my toes and yes I shed a tear when you guys lost..but I realized that it made me love you guys even more...you guys didn't boost or anything you guys are respectful...I love you Mr. Wright you are my Favorite baseball player...listen you are only 23 years old you are 2 years older than me...and you are living your dream...is it true that you would've been a police officer if you weren't a baseball player? because if that is true then you must know I am going to the academy next year... anyways, what a season and I hope that next season is even better...you are great! #5 forever!! METS METS METS!!!!!

FaBBy*

Oh my goodness, I can't believe this season is over. It's been a great ride and I look forward to next year. Thanks for everything David!

Hey David,

Yes, as you know, game 7 was depressing. I thought we were gonna win it all that night but it made me realize how much this team has accomplished over the season. It made me appreciate you guys even more for all the efforts you guys put into the game. Man, oh man, if you guys made it to the World Series, i think you guys would have no problem beating the Tigers because from the looks of it now, that whole week off for them just really affected their hot streak. I wish the Cardinals would lose cause they beat you guys but...it doesn't seem like it's gonna happen. My dad and I are just staring at the tv just wondering how awesome it would be if you guys made it, it would be soo easy for you guys because the Tigers don't look good at all. I keep staring at the scoreboard on top of the tv screen where it says DET and STL..i imagined it to be DET and NYM, but it's all over now, you can't change the past but you sure can appreciate it. Thanks to you and the whole Mets organization for a wonderful 2006 season. No matter what, we are still the team. the time. the mets. This postseason just gave me ideas of what the 2007 mets could do...they will be even better because I BELIEVE!!! Well, at least all the postseason rookies got to experience this and learned from it. NYM fans will always be there for you guys, through thick and thin unlike the fans of the crosstown Yankees. Enjoy your offseason with your family and your dogs. Happy early birthday too!! I love you and the Mets! Go get 'em next year. We will be untouchable!!!

♥ ALWAYS,

--Jacqueline

David-
Sadly, it wasn't our year. Game 7 was so sad,and I really thought you guys were gonna win. I cried at the end, along with the other fans. It's okay, you guys had a terrifc season and you are the number one team in my heart. Enjoy the offseason, and have a great (early) birthday. We came so close this year, so next year I KNOW it's our year because YA GOTTA BELIEVE. We're gonna be the team to beat next year! I love you lots:)

♥With love,

Kristen

Hey David!!!! I am sooooo sooo unbelievably sorry about your loss in Game 7. I cannot believe that you guys lost!! i was sooo depressed for like a whole week and i cried a lot as well. I still cant bring myself to believe that you really truly aren't in the world series. it's okay though!!! It i really alright, because even though you guys lost, you still had an AWESOME season!!! And next year will BE OUR YEAR . Enjoy the offseason- relax and have a fun time with your family. HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAY!!!!! And I have a great quote to give to you "If what you did yesterday still looks big today, you haven't done much today." So, don't linger in the past, move on. NEXT YEAR IS OUR YEAR!!! YA GOTTA BELIEVE!!!!!! GO METS!!
GO METS! GO METS!!!p.s. did you know that z100 had a song that was about the mets that went along with the tune of "and she said"?!?!? isn't that funny! you should call them and ask them to play it! Love you soooo much!!

xoxo

Katherine

David,

I just wanted to say that it was sad to have you all come so far and to have the season end the way that it did....but no matter what you made us all PROUD!!!! The 06' team was amazing and you all proved how tight you were and how well you all played with one another as a "team" through out the year. It is not over for any of you.....I am looking forward to 07'season this time we will make it to the end.

Enjoy your time off, good luck house hunting and making NY your home away from home.

Until next year David.

Michelyn

Happy Cardinal fan here. Just wanted to stop by and say congrats to the Mets.. the toughest team we faced, by far, en route to our World Series crown. I'm scared to think how dangerous your team will be next year when all healthy!! Best of luck to all. You had a great year and have a lot to be proud of. Look forward to seeing you in the playoffs next year! I hadn't watched any Mets baseball till the playoffs, and though I will always be a Cardinals fan first, I have found another team that I love now and I'll be following you next year! Class club.

Thanks for being such a cool guy.

Great Season buddy, Even though you guys lost you played your best. I've been a MET fan for 24 years and this was by far the most exciting season. I know its just the start for great things to come. Keep your head up high and get ready for next year. The 2007 Mets will be even better.

Later,

Dave

Hey David,

I don't beleive i have gotten a chance yet to congratulte you yet on such a great, entertaining and finally competative year. But I also wrote to tell you something that cought my attention today. I was speaking with my step mom, who has a part time job as a substitute teacher, and she told me about an experiance she had on halloween day when she was subbing at the Grace Church school in manhattan. I believe it is a catholic school so on hlloween they had a special service, and after praying the headmaster of the school addressed the school for his sermon. He told the kids about saint-hood and his message to them was that you anybody has the power to have the impact of a siant. His example was you, David, and how he idolizes you on and most importantly off of the field.

When I heard this I couldn't believe what a perfect example a man like this gave. You are truely a great guy and i hope that i will get the oppertunity to talk to you again next year.

Anyway, good luck in Japan, play well, and come back healthy. 2007 is our year, man, and im confident that next year you guys will be able to do it.

Best of luck,

Dave

CONGRATS on the HOMER to tie the ball game, had to been an awesome feeling. Congrats on a job well done meeting the PM. Good luck w/the rest of the series!!!

David,
Tons of congrats to u on the two-run homer in the ninth inning. Wow....that's amazin'...two outs, Joe Mauer singled and then u stepped up with the homer to tie the game! Good luck on the upcoming games, man!! Knock 'em dead! ;)

Con carino,

Dinar

Hey David!
Just wanted to say hey and great job on hitting that homerun today! (: I didn't get to see it ): but my grandfather told me that he saw it on the news! I hope you, Jose Reyes, John Maine, Manny Acta, and Julio Franco are all having fun in Japan. I'm going insane without you and the Mets! I can't take it anymore- I want it to be March so I can see you guys! By the way, Happy Early Birthday! (I'm going to comment you on your birthday though.) I've been pretty busy with school work (I'm a senior in high school just to let you know) so once I get the chance, I'm going to send you some fan mail along with some pictures of me! (:! I would really like it if you write about your time in Japan, so could you do that?!?! Good luck in the rest of your games in Japan!

I love you so much!

<3, Katie

heyy david,

congrats on that bomb you hit earlier today!! i saw it too!! it was pretty amazing! i got up in the morning for school and i remembered you guys were playing at that time so i went to mlb.com to see if i can somehow tune it and i found out that you can watch live so i clicked it expecting to see that i have to pay but the screen popped up and the next thing you know, i watching the game live from japan, i know it hasnt been that long since i watched the last mets game on tv but it felt like months! i was so happy to see you and reyes playing the field...soon the 9th inning came around and you guys were down 7-4 so i didnt think we had a chance but then andruw jones hit his 2nd homer of the game and it was 7-5, i was wondering if i was gonna see you come to bat in this inning cause i didnt expect you because the 5-6-7 hitters were due up but andruw hit his bomb and i was pretty happy (thats the only time i will cheer for him) and then there were quickly 2 outs but then joe mauer hit his single and you next to bat so i was soo happy to see you again, and the next thing i know, you hit your powerful bomb and i was exstatic!! you shouldve seen me, i wanted to scream but my whole family was sleeping still so i couldnt but it was still exciting to see you hit a homer again and i was jumping up and down in my room like a maniac!!! then jose reyes made the 3rd out and by that time, i had to go to school so i was upset that i couldnt watch the rest of the game but it's okay at least you guys tied it, that's soo much better than losing. as i was walking to the bus stop, i had such a cheesy smile because i got to see you again and just seeing your presence on the computer makes my day bright. it felt like its been months since the last mets game but its not even, i was excited to see you playing baseball still and i got to watch, cause i've been dying without baseball, my days have been so boring and it seems like there's nothing on tv anymore...well that was my story and i know its long but i hope you take the time to read it! thanks! and good luck to all the mets in japan for the rest of the series and ohh yeah it seems like there's only one team in the dugout that has the most players in japan and thats the METS!! i wish carlos beltran was there though but i hope he feels better!! LETS G0 METS `07! I LOVE Y0U DAViD!!!

--jacqueLine ♥

my man david wright, what can i even say, u took over the mets within about a month, now your taking japan by storm the first game u play. way to go brotha. Just wanted tpo let u know baseball season is all year round for me i will be followin every single little move the mets make from now to april, i also read the article featuring the picture with u, reyes, and the prime minister of japan, damm kidd, pimpin all over the world? Good looken out haha i heard u tried to talk the PM into putting in a good word for the mets with Daisuke Mats, but good luck the rest of the way over there, and be ready cuz next year we will not be stopped, and we will be the Major League Baseball World Series Champs 2007, featuring world series mvp, david wright. haha good luck buddy keep up the good work

Hello David, I want to thank you for being my sons roll model. What's most impressive to me is your character on and off the field. Cole was interviewed after a USA Baseball tournament game he played in this last weekend and I want to share it with you:

Cole Gleason had a pair of hits and a pair of RBIs as team Arizona followed up its shutout victory in the opener. The 13-year-old Mesa, AZ resident says his team is set for whatever Saturday brings, certain that they’ll earn a berth in Sunday’s medal round.

"We just have to come out and swing the bats, throw strikes and play good defense the way we played this afternoon," Gleason said. "We didn’t play the best game of our lives in the first game but it was relief because it showed that we could hang with these guys."

Gleason said that he’s a big David Wright fan and he certainly followed in his idol’s footsteps against Idaho.

"I like being in that position where the pressure is on," Gleason said. "You have to like being in a position with pressure if you’re going to be a good baseball player."

Thanks!

Dad

Who loves Mr. Wright more than me?
PSSHHT NO ONE!!!!!! ;)

SORRY, I LOVE DAVID WRIGHT MORE THAN ANYONE.

Hi David:
I just became a mets fan this season, I didn't watch any baseball but as I started watching I loved the mets because of all the great PR players on that team since I'm from PR. Then of course I noticed you because you were so cute and played so great that you became my favorite player (of course after Beltran, Delgado and Valentin... just kidding). I wanted to congratulate you on this season you played really great. I also read you have a foundation for children. I think it's great since I'm a doctor on my way to make my pediatrics residency. I love working with children so I think is really cool what you're doing. So hey write to you later. Good Luck next season. Hope I get to meet you one day. See you soon.

Dear David,
Do you remember a guy who guided you how to transfer subways in Tokyo at half past 9:00PM on November 1st ? Well, that was my friend, Keita Abe. He told me you were so friendly and really pleasant person. I'm so proud that you made him happy. Thank you very much! I've been a Mets's fan since 1969. I keep my eyes on you. Good luck and take care.

Even if it's the smallest picture of you from the newspaper, I still cut it out and add it to my collection of stuff with you! You're also the backround on my cell phone and computer! Yes, I'm that obsessed with you. I can't help it, you are too hott and cute! lol. Hi David.

Not wise I who was David Wright, let's say that I knew of you in this season, my I like the baseball.

But to my dad much.

And this was what made to me him record the parties(games) mets against cardinal. Curiously such a David was called me the attention, it was at the time when comence when information looked on this one for third base. Go that information exists in Internet of you.

What mas I get pleased besides that you are a great player, it(he,she) is David Wright discovers the foundation, I get pleased very much because he to me says it that also you are a great human being.

Now David I know you, though your to my not.

I congratulate you on your great heart.

And great player.

The best desires for you.

Now I have to blame my dad, for knowing it.

Since only to know it by means of Internet and not in person.

Good luck.

Vanessa

I love the Mets, especially you and Jose Reyes. I have posters of you both in my room (even though they annoy my boyfriend)!! For my birthday my dad took me to your charity event at the Hard Rock and it was so awesome!!!! I got to see Nick Lachey perform and you of course. You are now my sole favorite Mets player, even though I saw you checking out some pretty model who looked like Katy Holms in a gold dress. Lol. I asked her if she was your girlfriend later and she said no but looked suspicious!!! Your party was awesome either way!!! And you are right you will win the world series next year!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hola David

Hey David,
I hope you're having a great offseason. Me, I'm bored to death not being able to watch you guys, I've been trying to occupy myself by watching the Jets but it still isn't the same. I guess you must be sad about Floyd leaving, we all are, but on the bright side, HoJo is the new first base coach. I know you guys are good buddies, tell him I said congrats in spring. Hopefully Omar will soon strike gold with Zito, than there would be nothing stopping us! I cant wait till next season, I know you are gonna have a great year, who knows maybe MVP. Well, I'll see you in spring, enjoy the rest of the offseason!

Hey David!
I know you've been getting a lot of comments saying this, but I miss you too!!! I am going insane without you and the Mets to watch. I'm sure you are sad about Floyd not coming back, so am I. ): I hope you are having fun this offseason. By the way, happy early birthday! Hope you have a great one! I will be sending you a card along with some pictures of me. Well, happy holidays and new year! See you in 2007!

Hi! Happy New Year! I miss baseball. I miss watching the games. I miss the excitment. Especially you guys, The Amazin' Mets. I miss sitting in my room watching the the games with my dad in in my Mets sweat pants. Yeah I pretty much love you guys. For christmas my boyfriend ( he's a Yankee fan. icky.) got me a Mets bear! When he gave it to me he said, " I named him after the only person you love more than me. David Wright." I laughed. I won't say if it's true or not...he might get very mad. Anyway, Happy Belated Birthday!!!! 24 baby! I miss watching you play!

Hey baby, how you doing? I'm sooooooo happy because baseball is almost here. Wedesday is our first spring training game and I'm a little mad because I'm not going to be able to see the whole game cuz I have to go to school, and by the time I get home its going to be 4:00. Anyways, I miss you like crazy and I can't wait to see you. It's been too long. I also have this really good feeling this year about 2007. I just know its going to be a great year, better than it was last year. I can't wait. I don't know how I did it but I did. Well see you and I love you with all my heart. Let's Go Mets!!!!!

Hey David,
How u doin'? Hope that everything is going well for u and the guys down at Florida. I read about the Gour-Mets cookbook and it sounds really cool. U said that ur not really versatile in the kitchen. Awww....the most important thing is that ur trying. By the way, I was really mad after reading Jimmy Rollins' comment on the paper. What the heck is his problem anyway? I didn't quite get over that when Brett Myers started yappin' about how he hates the Mets and that he doesn't want the Mets fans at their stadium and such. I don't think that it's wise to create some bitterness like that when the season hasn't even officially started yet. Jeez...now I see that they're tryin' to start a war with the Mets and the Mets fans. Ur 100% right that talk is very, very cheap unless they can back up their words. I gotta say that he should know better than to mess with the Mets and the fans. It ain't gonna be pretty for them. Uh-uh. On a lighter note, I'm super duper excited to watch the first preseason game on Wednesday. I've been in a really good mood the last couple of days (except for those comments made by Jimmy Rollins and Brett Myers) because of this game. Mets in '07!!!!

Dinar (a Mets-oholic girl who now hates the Phillies more than the Braves)=]

Congratulations on becoming a homeowner.

I also was reading in the paper about the commercial that you, Jose Reyes and Carlos Beltran shot to promote the All Star game. Can't wait to see it.

Looking forward to the start of the regular season.

David

Do you even read what your fans have to say here? You haven't even updated your own blog in the last FIVE months. I seriously doubt you are even taking time to read any of this. Maybe one of your "people" can pass this important word onto you. Your fans are your fans, during the season AND the off-season. The least you can do for all of these people who love and support you is read what they have to say and post an update on yourself every once in a while. Stop going out to bars and mixing drinks; stay home one night and post a "Thank you" to every one of these people who are so dedicated to you. Their love is worth much more than $55 Million, David.
